Missed the end happening live but man that was sad. When it happened to me I re-started the race with a length of what I had left in the original race. Of course qualifying had to be done all over again, but at least you'd get a result. It's quite painful to have all your hard work thrown away just because of a bug.

I guess it adds to the realism. Your obvious feelings of frustration and disappointment resembled some of the post race reactions of drivers being interviewed. Onwards and upwards! 👍

I started moving ahead a minute at a time because I had to go and could t believe it happened again. Just chalk it up to an electronics malfunction for the DNF reason, sorry you drove a flawless race for 2 hours

I wish they would do a street race in Denver again one of these days. I was very young and wasn't into racing back in the day, but those rumors of a NASCAR street race at Denver has me hopeful that maybe one day I'll catch a race in Denver. I mean there's always CNS which is actually closer to where I live, but the biggest event we get is the ARCA West race which is coming back this year at least.

I know this is imperfect, but taking @NicoGorsberg's suggestion on, at 1:49:53, we see the top twelve is Axelson, Mario, Little Al, Sullivan, Fittipaldi, Michael Andretti, Raul Boesel, Scott Goodyear, Rick Mears, Bobby Rahal, Teo Fabi, and Arie Luyendyk. We know that Goodyear and especially Boesel went long before their last pitstop. Goodyear was 20 seconds off the lead when he pit. You were 19.5 seconds ahead of Boesel the lap before you pit and came out 3.4 ahead after you pit, so that's around 16 seconds lost in your pitstop - Goodyear pit earlier, so we'll assume around 20 for him, while Boesel pits at 3.7 seconds off of you and gets past by Fittipaldi who is 20.8 seconds off at this point, so I think it's fair to assume his pitstop would've taken roughly around 15-20 seconds as well, dropping him just behind Fittipaldi. We know you were behind Rick Mears as well, so it's fair to consider him as the last car on the lead lap. We can also occasionally see a yellow nose in your mirrors on those closing laps that doesn't match up with any of the recently lapped cars, so it's possible that is Bobby Rahal who is just behind Mears positionally. (Last seen in the mirrors in turn twelve just before the game crashed). Now, it is admittedly impossible to figure out where exactly the likes of Raul, Michael, and Scott Goodyear ended up, as well as who the final two in the points were, but, to the best of my ability using the available data on hand, the reconstructed pre-crash results may look as follows: 1: Ryan Axelson - 20 points + 1 point for Pole Position + 1 point for Leading the Most Laps (22) 2: Danny Sullivan - 16 points. 3: Al Unser Jr. - 14 points. 4: Mario Andretti - 12 points. 5: Emerson Fittipaldi - 10 points. 6: (Specu:) Raul Boesel - 8 points. 7: (Specu:) Michael Andretti - 6 points. 8: (Specu:) Scott Goodyear - 5 points. 9: Rick Mears - 4 points. 10: Bobby Rahal - 3 points. 11: (Specu:) Teo Fabi - 2 points. 12: (Specu:) Arie Luyendyk - 1 point. I understand if you don't want to keep track of the points outside the sim, and of course there is no way of knowing how accurate my speculative positions are, but this is my best attempt at trying to use the available information to determine what would've happened had the sim held together just a little bit longer. I wish you better luck at Vancouver.

Truly sorry about what happened. However, thankyou for the good entertainment and content. To your comment about whether or not this could be related to an AI car having the issue it is possible. I say this because i noticed somewhere between remaining laps 15 and when it bugged out, as you were following mears, it appeared as if mears was below the track for a split second. Maybe i was seeing things but maybe, if you want to watch that part, you might notice it as well and inform the mod creator. Again, thanks for the content and better luck next time.

This track isn't usable for long races, too many dice rolls. Was a nice run!

Jake - I raced a 100% race at portland89 the other day and the exact same thing happened to me going through the chicane at the end of the front stretch. I'm sorry this ruined your day (again). As far as changing the track, I don't know what do different that would make it better (or worse). I almost feel like we need a way to do "save states" almost like we can in Gp2 which is built into Gp2.

It's the Friedrich Bang experience. A shame, but electronic failures happen, I guess. You'll get em next time! Note down who get's the most laps lead point and at the end we do the math, won't be too hard :)

That's heartbreaking, hope doesn't cost you the championship. Isn't there an option to simulate the race without DNF?, let the AI simulate your race too?, and take whatever position it gives... still RNG... surprised Andretti didn't actually win it.. well, Push On Regardless 💪 and Happy entry to 2025 if we don't see you earlier, Cheers!! 🍻

That’s quite a motley crew in the points...but if I’m really bored later I’m going to feel the need to sit down and recalculate the “real” season points if the meteor hadn’t hit Denver again…after all it was well past half distance and if the meteor had really hit they would have just awarded points as you ran…possibly posthumously, but still.

Why didn't you just freeze the grid where the game crash happened. You had 7 laps to go with a 8 second lead.

There is no way to know the running order outside of the top 5, the game fully crashed

@@GPLaps You scrolled through the standings at 1:49:55 and the race was at more than 50% when this last yellow flag happened. So maybe you could consider this YF as a red flag and take the final results at this point.
