So I have a theory about Hansol/NCT situation... If you remember back it 2016 all the rumors were saying SM was going to debut 4 NCT units throughout the year - the 3 that debut + the first Chinese unit. I believe Kun, Hansol, Johnny and Doyoung were all intended for that last one (Johnny and Doyoung even co-hosted MySMT, a show aimed at the Chinese market, and showed off their Mandarin skills). Because of Politics, that last unit got scrapped. SM decided to add Johnny and Doyoung to NCT 127, but they couldn't just add everyone... Assuming Hansol's trainee contract was ending, he'd have to make a difficult decision: Re-sign for however many more years as a trainee, with no guaranty of debut, or take the opportunity to leave on good terms and without any debt (something you can only do if you leave at the end of your contract). I guess he chose to leave and try elsewhere. Since SM hired him as Taemin's backup dancer, I think it's clear they still support him, just didn't have the right opportunity to offer him at the time. It's sad, but hopefully he can do well here - he's off to a great start with this performance :)

hansol really deserves so much. despite his huge efforts, sm still set him aside, ignoring him and leaving fans clueless about his future. even though he was one of the original smrookies members, he had to struggle while watching his friends debut and though it hurts, i'm so glad he has left a toxic company like sm. he can finally stand on stage, present his many talents and go after his dreams. i cannot believe i have finally heard him sing for over a minute. seriously, i can't quite fathom the fact that he is actually getting recognition and gaining followers. it's sincerely one of _the_ best things. lastly, i really hope nctzens will continue to support him and the group he'll hopefully debut in; lord knows he deserves it. please love hansol 💕.

One thing about SM that you can't deny, they maybe shit in handling and treating their artist but they capable in 'caught' and producing talented artist. And the visual is a bonus. Idk about yg and jyp, but I think SM is the hardest and harshest one. You can shit on SM but fans should know if not because of SM,they maybe even didn't know the existence of their idols. Like SM is who made them. Sometimes I do pity in SM artist because of their visual, kpop fans that hate SM just ignored their talent and just f***ing downgraded them, like seriously.

​@@lu5423 Agreed... I love Hansol with all of my heart but I honestly do think (This is just an opinion) that NCT would've been a better option for him. At least he wouldn't have ended up like WinWin. He'd probably be on the same level line-wise as Jungwoo. I hate to say it but UNB was a big flop. Newkidd have absolutely spectacular music but because of their company (J-flo) being such an unknown company, they practically only have 400-900 PROPER stans. Plus J-flo is mistreating him and he's been on a break for a while. They used to put him in the front to say "Hey, look! We have an SM ROOKIE!!!" But they've realised that they don't get enough attention for that and have began putting Yunmin in the center instead. I don't think that it's too late for Hansol to change things. Hopefully he didn't end on bad terms with SM... It's unlikely but there *is* a small chance they'd take him back considering his visuals and talent.

I think he terminated his contract with SM. Just think of it he was announced as one of the very first NCT member and was part of the NCT group debut teaser "synchronization of your dreams" and danced to the song The 7th Sense. So I think he's already under the nct contract but the terms are lighter cause he hasn't officially debuted yet. And let us be reminded to what LSM said that NCT is a group wherein the members can go/leave anytime as they wish. But I'd hoped that SM did not let him go so easily.
