The colours on Rita's fingers exactly match those of the Zeo team's main 5 which makes a lot of sense seeing as she had the complete crystal imdeded into her staff as Mistres Vile.

@@Deoxy360 Yes we did see him holding the crystalless staff after confining Rita to the dumpster. I am thinking that for how long she had the crystal and using its power to help with jumping universes and corrupting the Grid alongside Dark Specter her hand had been stained by the colours of the team that would come from it.

So it seems that we were correct in the assessment that this is set in an alternate universe of the Power Ranger mythos where Eltarian Army arrived earlier than previously known and it seems that because of the slight change in history, The Mighty Morphin team doesn’t exist nor does Zordon, but it definitely seems that Rita had arrived and awoken much earlier or I should say later than her previous incarnations.

This was a wild first issue. Zartus leading an Eltarian invasion and erasing the existence of Power Rangers reminds a lot of Order 66 from Star Wars. And Lauren's abd Orion'd characterization made them feel a lot like the characters they were supposed to be in tv show. Great start

I always said power rangers should be a political drama like Gundam. Eltarian war was a good blueprint and Melissa seems to be doing it. This is great

Good start. If we can see VR Troopers then maybe we'll see the Big Bad Beetleborgs appear in the future. And who knows we could even see characters like Ivan Ooze make an appearance (I'll never lose hope in seeing him in the comics)

This finally explains why the Eltarians seems to be hunting Rangers. All because a dude we thought was dead was somehow transported to this universe, A universe where it looks like The Eltarians took over Earth due to an Alien Invasion Earth couldn't handle before. Should have used a spear that wasn't the Zeo Crystal Zordon.

I hope we get a VR Troopers comic from boom studios. When Hasbro acquired power rangers brand, they also got the rights with other brands Masked Rider, VR Troopers, Beetleborgs, Mystic Knights. Maybe we will see all of them in comics one day, I want to see a Kamen Rider Dragon Knight comic .

Ok, this is cool. I like how it's more of a What If and not completely different to the main universe. And right of the bat they have already addressed my main issue with The World of the Coinless. The Samurai Rangers and (retroactively) Zayto should have been there. I get they only wanted to focus on Mighty Morphin but it always confused me why they didn't seem to be around in that world. The VR Troopers officially appering is also great. I might have to binge the show this week.

Overall, not a bad first issue. It sets up this new universe without rushing through anything and gives us a fresh new spin on Lauren as she encounters with the Eltarian police while also giving us a glimpse of her reasoning in hiding. Also, feels surprising to see the VR Troopers since that one is in legal limbo.

I agree, I was happily surprised how much they set up in just the first issue. Great job. I’m expecting this to be an upside down world. Where the Eltarians are the main evil threat & Ria (Mystic Mother?) is the force of good. She will take Zordon’s role & give the new team ranger powers. So I have a theory that might be a stretch. But this could possibly be the universe the Hyperforce team accidentally created when they lost in their finale. The Hyperforce team were unable to save ZORDON therefore the Z wave never happened. This would lead to the other rangers series not happening either. Except for Samurai and the first four teams. So maybe Eltar is angry that Zordon was supposed to be protected by the Rangers but he had gone missing. Then without Zordon or his guidance the Rangers were unprepared and Eltar Stepped in. Plus with Rita showing up at the end we find out in Hyperforce the reality they return to has been altered and there is a huge statue of Rita and Zedd ruling. Just a theory of mine that I think could be really cool.

My theory is that Zardus somehow survived and was transferred to a new universe. Where he started to continue his goal of making Eltar the strongest forces in the universe. However he needed to prevent any Power Rangers from ever existing, so no one can stop him, altering everyone’s destiny. This is similar to what The Maker has done in Marvel’s new ultimate universe. But as they say there will always be heroes or rangers to stand against evil.

I doubt that this Zartus is the same from the main universe. Pretty sure its just the same person but from this universe. Zartus, Zedd and Zordon are thousands of years old so its no suprise that this universe has a Zartus too. Overall this first issue is great! I was very suprised to see the VR Troopers in here, like wtf xD I wasnt expecting Laurens backstory. Shes been on the run for so many years, thats crazy Now lets adress the elefant in the room...Rita. From the first page it looks like she knows the new set of rangers because we see the new red ranger but only shades of the others. Or, is it possible that she is the new red ranger? Because its a female red ranger
