Yk, Komi is not only socially anxious, but she's EXTREMELY anxious, so for someone that has difficulty to bond with anyone in any case, when talking is already a challange, just "get over" someone when that someone is her best friend is one of the hardest things she could do. I mean, in most of her life she never could have any friends because of her difficulty. In that episode where she was on a trip with those other two girls, they were talking about boys, and Komi asked them what was "liking someone" like, so finding out that she was recently liking someone for the first time may be really new for her, and actually kinda hard to understand. I mean, i passed through most of what she did in most of my life, i kinda know how she may feel about it, so honestly, i think they're hardly getting somewhere rly far at THIS season, honestly, unless we consider Komi's evolution and time skips there may have. It may be much more obvious what the characters are feeling for the audience, and also cause we're used to romance anime, now the characters themselves are much more complex than just "hi i like u" "i like u 2" "*and they all get married".

For some reason, Netflix describes this anime as cour 2 (Season 1 Part 2) which for me is a bit confusing since many people said it's a season 2 💀 (although they still on its first year tho so yeah) But IMHO for next season they better do focusing on making friends stuff, then saving the confession part for the movie. Or they could do 24 episode for the next season, since I haven't seen a slice of life anime that aired in more than 13 episode apart from the older one (like Nichijou for example)
