Those who don't know how to calculate gross profit let me tell u because I also have a hard time to calculate Gross profit formula -cogs (cost on goods sold ) -(minus) sales For department A Opening stock +net purchase - stock transfer+total carriage +closing stock(these are who to calculate cogs) and then - sales 15200+74000-5000+1480+17800(cogs) - 100000(sales) ~32120 For department B add stock transfer and left is the same and for total sum the department a and department b

Hi Sir this a student from west Bengal.I just wanna say that .Before I saw u in KZbin I was a completely unknown to the inner concepts of accounting which became a problem .it was easy to pass highschool with just learning accounts but as we all know that graduation is a completely different story .in 1st sem I got a supply I got depressed abt my career bt one day while searching my chapters in KZbin I saw ur video and that was the first tym I understood accounts in accounts we need to understand and not learn everything like theory .that was the first tym I loved doing accounts .I'm in 3rd sem now .evn today I watched 12 of ur videos .I'm a student of Calcutta University B.com(H).sir I really want to thank u a lot .for saving me and giving me some hope .there's one reqst I want to make if its possible for u sir can u pls explain the chapter on 'independent accounts'in branch accounting system ?cs still my concept isn't clear from what I learned in my college and in my tutn .I really need ur hlp .my exams r in December it would be really helpful if u explain that part .I really respect ur work sir its cs of teachers like u that evn idiots like us becomes a master .

. 3. On 31st March 2014, Balance Sheet of ABC Ltd. contained interalia the following items- (i) Authorised Capital: 1,00,000 Equity shares of Rs. 10 each. (ii) Issued Capital: 60,000 Equity shares of Rs. 10 each, Rs. 8 called up. (iii) Calls in arrear : Rs. 1,05,000. (iv) Staff Provident Fund : Rs. 20,000. The following transactions took place during 2014-15- April 25: Final call of Rs. 2 was made. May 10: Rs. 1,15,000 was received on account of final call. June 30: Forfeited 2,000 shares on which Rs. 14,000 were unpaid. July 15 Additional 20,000 shares were offered to existing shareholders at a premium of Rs. 2.50 per share payable Rs. 7.50 including premium on application and balance on allotment. Aug. 10: 20,000 shares were applied for by the public and allotment was made. Sept. 1: Allotment money received Rs. 99,000. Oct. 25: 10,000 equity shares were issued as fully paid to vendors for purchase of machinery. Dec. 30: Mr. X, an employee was discharged and was paid Rs. 3,000 on account of his provident fund. Jan. 1: Rs. 1,00,000 was received as public deposit @ 12% per annum. 2014-15. March 31: Contributed Rs. 8,000 in Staff Provident Fund for Enter these transactions in company's Journal and Cash Book and show these items in the Balance Sheet of ABC Ltd. as on 31st March, 2015. 2500
