I would love to know about all their experiences and travels. For example, what are some events, places, people that were memorable for them-the good and the bad. They’ve had so many experiences in life more than the average person. I’d be excited to read their memoirs. I hate that I’m so interested, because it’s nosey, but I find them so fascinating.

It is called being a fan, a die hard fan perhaps. It is perfectly fine i think. Where it gets worrying is when their actual lives are being invaded. But just wanting to know basically anything about a musician who's deeply touched your heart and soul, again, i cannot find anything wrong with that.

And DM were everything to me, when i was 14 to about 17. They were my first big concert i went to see on my own in 1988 here in Vienna. I now live only a few minutes from that venue so all those years later, but still, that memory is quite vivid. We dressed in a similar fashion, i met my first group of friends at a party back then all kind of dressed alike, wanting to put on a DM record, haha! I had 27 records, would go to record shops in Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt and London, just to find that one special remix.... then when i was away for a year at 18, my mother gave my entire record collection away to some goodwill thing....sad but true, i never forgave her for that. I would LOVELOVELOVE to have that collection of all that brilliant music from the 80s and early 90s in front of me, that would be so amazing 'cause i don't even remember all the records i had and i'd probably find so many little details, i did not pick up on as a 15 year old kid. God, i worshipped them pretty much, their videos, their style besides their music. Always loved their really dark pieces like Pimpf for example, 101 i watched until the video tape was worn out, hehe.... sorry, got a little carried away there....but you see, it's so many of us, being deeply in love with DM.

1987 Essen looks like worn out IKEA furniture- it’s so ugly that it’s cute. When I first started the video, I thought it was 1985, but then realized this was from Music for the Masses. It’s amazing how ‘80’s’ everything looks especially since the promo videos for the album look more late 90’s/early 00’s. It's extremely telling how Dave took a seat on his own and didn't follow Fletcher to the rear of the bus to play cards and this was quite early on in DMs career. I'm sure it was Fletcher who helped Alan come to the conclusion that his days of compiling the sounds that Depeche mode depended on were no longer worth his efforts. Sighting a "unfair distribution of the band's work load" as one of the many reasons Alan eventually left to take on his solo music projects . It still makes me sad how Martin and Fletcher made Alan feel like he had no choice after the blood , sweat and tears plus years Alan devoted to Depeche modes success around the globe .
