OMG they are just like a garage band! Everyone playing something different at the same time. Nice to see how they are after a break trying to get their shit back together.

They don't like doing this song. They feel it is too young for them, but, they do it for the fans. They are playing with it. They will frequently change the way they do a song, speed it up, slow it down, put it to a reggae beat, just messing around having fun.

I think Fletch deserves respect. The man obviously doesn´t enjoy music as much as the others. Still, he never gave in and has kept his job within the band for more than 30 years. Not all can have their hobbies for a day job. Watching this video, watching Martin behaving silly like a boy having fun with the legendary tune I appreciate Fletch´s calm posture. All those speculations about his abilities but the truth is simple. He is simply not fond of music. He could have nine to five job, stable..

Alan this, Alan that... he wasn't even in the band yet when they recorded this song. He was important, yes, but he wasn't irreplaceable like some people think. They did great before him (Speak & Spell, etc) and after him (Ultra, etc).

gonzalo pardo-figueroa yes exactly, I personally found him to be overrated.
@repiso7 жыл бұрын
Overrated by fans maybe, but for sure he was underrated inside the band :(
@thomassharoniard46296 жыл бұрын
he's definitely not overrated he had such an impact on their creations and speak and spell was a shy record ... he fed the legendary sound of depeche mode during the crucial years i mean blackcelebration violator masses etc however it's true that ULTRA is a masterpiece even though wilder's not here anymuuurre

Has Fletch ever complained about not being acknowledged? Never! Fans go crazy about Dave. Fletch knows how to cope with that. Depeche would never have sounded the same without him - he says a word on Violator, plays a one note bass solo on another record and much more. Years ago Q had a list of the richest UK musicians. Out of DM boys Fletch was second behind Martin. This is hard earned money. The man was born to do something else, yet he´s become a musician. And there´s no other like him

At 2:46 how his hand touches his face in an embarassing way. The man knows about sacrifice. All his life doing something he obviously has absolutely no talent for. He must suffer every day. I suspect he doesn´t even like music that much. Ultimate hard worker. He could be somewhere else doing something he enjoys. I feel for him. Hard earned cash.

stable salary, being with his wife and kids. He chose the harder way. Touring itself is incredibly exhausting and rock musicians are supposed to party hard. Fletch has never failed in that. Then there are girls, beautiful girls and your life involves a lot of great sex, often with coke etc.. Fletch also does a lot of press. And on stage he´s always positive, waving at fans, jumping up and down. Alan could never put out a show like Fletch. Alan felt he´d never received proper respect

Damn go sit down Pete...I mean I know he's a good keyboard player, but he still bothers me for some reason. He almost acts like he's been with DM since the beginning. I'm so glad they don't bring him to the studio when they make a new album. But I like Christian though. I think he's cool, plus he could help in the studio working out drum patterns.

It's bloody awful, what a messed up arrangement! It's like a pub band, and it's like they've lost it's essence! I honestly think they can't even play it properly, there is even concert footage of the band messing it up and having to start again. Sort it out guys, it's painful for an old fan to see!
