Prompt 17 Flip Out Page & Old Photos - “Career Change”
Ephemera - Explosion Style Flip Out Photo Book
First of all, I would like to say Happy Birthday to my darling hubster, Pete, who becomes a crafting widow during Dephemerember and who I think secretly likes that I hide away in my craft studio from morning to night, just as long as I am producing something “edible” for him to eat, when he returns home after a long day at work. He loves me, he supports me, he encourages me, he tries to understand me, he still can’t say “Dephemerember” to save himself, but he keeps trying and that is what matters.
I knew what I wanted to do for this one fairly early on in my thought process for coming up with prompt responses and it turned out pretty much how I hoped it would. Along the way I have learnt a lot.
1 - This will take you longer than you estimate, so bear this and mind, but keep at it, as it will be worth it in the end.
2 - You need to allow more space than you think, because adding a lot of photos, bulks up things fast.
3 - Simple, little things, repeated multiple times, will look classy. Like punched corners on cardstock and photos.
4 - You create so much “real estate” in a project like this. I added seventeen photos plus a cover label.
5 - Even though you measure and think you have accounted for everything, be flexible, it’s easier to recover from mistakes and happy accidents. It’s only paper, after all.

Thank you Susan. These are great ideas for memory keepers. I've seen them previously as exploding boxes, but I'm starting to lean towards the flatter version I've made here. I think it is more versatile and will travel a lot better.

Thank you. It is all thanks to living on the other side of the world from Luise and Barbara. Aotearoa / New Zealand is one of the first countries to see the light of the new day, because we are so close to the international date line, so I may or may not take advantage of that fact. *Non-challantly whistling and looking in the other direction*

I know. I try not to do anything involving so much maths, but when a thing is worth doing, it's worth doing well. And the maths involved, takes make it worth your while. Normally I'm a close enough is good enough girl, but precision does make a big difference here.
