“Deport Them All” - Who’s to Blame for Springfield’s Immigrant Crisis?

Donald Trump named Springfield, Ohio, as his first target for mass deportations. He claimed Haitian immigrants there were eating pets. We went to Springfield to hear the real story from the people who live there. It turns out the city's decline isn't new - and that its causes aren't what you've been told.
-----
More Perfect Union’s mission is to build power for working people. Here’s what that means:
We report on the real struggles and challenges of the working class from a working-class perspective, and we attempt to connect those problems to potential solutions.
We report on the abuses and wrongdoing of corporate power, and we seek to hold accountable the ultra-rich who have too much power over America’s political and economic systems.

If the people are informed the union will be safe and the founding fathers and Lincoln talked about this. If you read The Federalist Papers if you really read what the people that were creating the Constitution were talking about, as for labor friendly presidents and unions what addressing in the early 1900s, people would be amazed how relevant that material still is and what a part of this country it is, and always has been.

A big corporation, those private real estate investment firms cannot buy your house if YOU don't sell it to them. I sold a house about this time last year and the first offer I got was from an investor. The offer was ridiculous and if I had taken it I would have left 176 grand on the table. Anyway, as said, sellers don't sell corporations can't buy. Same with land.

That's one of many. But first yes more homeless makes the issue worse as there is limited resources. 2nd they aren't just buying up all the real estate it's that they are moving to other countries for cheaper labor as they even given an example of international.. John deere is the last agriculture tractor manufacture still in the US. We Also had ford who merged theirs with new holland that's in Italy. * It also creates more competition for employment so the migrants are double negative.

Anyone with the slightest sense of incredulity should instinctively know that “Magic Cards” do not exist. I was an immigrant to Democratic California and I NEVER had a State Charity Card of any sort, not even a damn Bus Pass for the Metro. I lived under my aunt’s roof and worked minimum wage part-time jobs to feed myself and pay her rent. Obviously that was untenable long-term, so I enlisted. Nobody told me about Food Stamps either, sometimes all I ate was Maruchan Ramen, which was a luxury where I was from. How people can live in a state their whole lives without state assistance and still believe that same state can fund Magic Cards for newcomers is beyond me.

Just wanted to clarify that some "Magic Cards" do exist. No it is not like a credit payment card, but it's a kind of card game, but unlike a normal pack of cards, where you pay to buy ONE pack and get guaranteed a full complete set of 53 cards (Joker, Ace, King Queen, Jack, 10, 9 8 etc of Diamonds, Hearts, Spades and Clubs) ... ...so with "Magic, The Gathering" someone buys a pack of random cards that don't include the full set needed for play. So they buy another and another and another extra expansion packs of cards. Meanwhile certain cards are deliberately engineered to be much less common than other cards, so enthusiasts are continuously buying new packs of "a random mix" cards to try, and try and try, to build up a full set. If standard 52/53 pack playing cards were sold like that, then authorities would be all over them for being scammers. So Magic cards do exist, and they are a scam, designed to encourage what amounts to gambling in a rigged system. But no, immigrants do not get Magic Credit/debit cards.

Joe Biden was signing orders he had no clue what he was signing. The guy has multiple videos online falling, shaking hands with ghosts, going from coherent speech to straight up gibberish. Society needs both sides to wake tf and realize they're being played.

When people looking to live productive and fruitful lives are demonized, something should feel wrong when hearing that. Unfortunately, people are more likely to believe these nefarious descriptions of their out-group, and they end up joining the bandwagon of seeing people as a scapegoat rather than their actual oppressive forces, which is greed and pay-to-play politics. Thank you for continuing to inform the people, even though many of them would rather believe that they are being attacked by immigrants than being drained by unchecked corporate greed. Boy, you sure have got to wonder what the profit is on $18 worth of labor in 2025. The local township has to shoulder the entire burden of supporting the low-wage population (whose meager tax contribution can't nearly keep the place afloat) while the executives scupper off with all the surplus cash for their Gucci shoes and vacation homes in Europe. These corporate execs wouldn't even recognize Springfield, while they enjoy the advantages of destroying the working class' opportunities for a reasonable, decent, successful lifestyle.

Some are missing a point. Haitians rarely take days off. They don't go out "every night" and get 'impaired'. They don't start their 'impairments' on Friday, which lasts through Monday. A local business owner was asked why he liked hiring Haitians. Among his answers was "that they can pass drug tests." I've experienced many a time of smelling cannabis vapors emanating from a vehicle next to me or passing me on the street. The skin color of the driver or passenger wasn't dark , in most cases. 🤔🤔

@ When Mexico reduced income inequality by 4% in 6 years, and during a global pandemic, and things only got worse here, we should probably stop assuming we know better than the nations some of these folks are coming from. I just love how they don’t bother to verify what they hear about Haitians but instead will believe the rumors & right wing media. Stoking the fire of prejudice that too many white Americans have and using that & their ignorance are easy ways for those in power to stay in power. Scapegoat & Divide-makes it easy to take control of the masses. They really use scapegoating group or groups similar to what those in power did in 1930’s Germany. We all should know by now that it is always those who own/run huge corporations, businesses, powerful tax free religions & those in the government that are there only for power and to enhance their finances that are the ones who control how the mass majority of us will live & die.

The reason they come here is because they are willing to work 12 hour days for less money. They are exploited. Do you ever see any corporation being charged with hiring immigrants? No. Do you ever see any laws to punish those who employ and exploit people? No. Put the blame where is belongs - Corporate America!
@Ev-ku6ok
@Ev-ku6ok 9 сағат бұрын
We really need to have a more non-partisan conversation about immigration. I agree, US intervention (and foreign US corporate activity) has destabilized many countries leading to unimaginable living conditions for natives. We need to take responsibility for that, and do something to help those people. But this video captures much of the problem with immigration of people fleeing from extreme poverty. They are happy to work long hours for low pay. That incentivizes corporations to hire undocumented workers who are unlikely to complain. This hurts Americans, who need to earn much more than immigrants are willing to earn. This also completely erases the progress of previous waves of immigrants - unions, 40 hour work weeks, wage gains. As far as taxes immigrants paid to fund social security, that's great, but people living on SSI are not making enough. The problem we have is income inequality, and the undocumented labor force is contributing to it. But corporate greed is to blame, not undocumented immigrants themselves. I'm surprised Trump is following through on deportations, because if successful, it would eliminate a significant percentage of the domestic workforce. This would certainly force employers to increase wages if they want to continue to function. It might also inspire them to eventually offshore, as there's no governmental limitation on that either.
