Thx for sharing. That’s awesome. I’m 46 from a small suburb outside of west Philadelphia and this came into my life when I needed most. I was wrapped around skateboarding in the 90s golden era and a lot of things were completely shit. This came into my life and helped mold my attitude, value my friends and great times and I stopped feeling sorry for myself. I still get emotional listening to it. This and turning point we’re all I listened to. I miss these years but so grateful for being alive in this era when everything was at its pinochle 👑DMYZ WUZ HERE

Orig. from NY - (Bronx/Long Island), but I was stationed in Italy in 1989. My bro Inti made me a tape of this, and we would sk8. In 2005 when I retired from Air Force, I moved here for a job offer, but in reality I moved here because of Fucking NJHC. Specifically because this... Lifetime and E-Town. But theres just too too many amazing bands from here. True Jersey. Shore Style.

We're still listening. Probably the most creative hardcore album ever produced. The drumming is stupendous, the guitar blends power chords with effects. Very well written songs incorporating tempo changes and deep bass.

This album did more for my teenage upbringing than my parents could ever have dreamed of (assuming of course that they were interested enough to dream about me lol). Honestly thought, a massive portion of my personality is directly associated with how deeply I identified with this record when I was around 14 years old.

What does choosing to be me actually mean though? It sounds good but what does it mean ontologically? If you were made in the image of God then that would necessarily mean that you are only really you insofar as you have conformed to that image.
@sXe.Opinion3 жыл бұрын
@@MaximusWolfe In my opinion "choosing to be myself" means I'm not controlled by substances and I choose to think for myself and not just follow what other people are doing to try to "fit in".
@MaximusWolfe3 жыл бұрын
@@sXe.Opinion Well said. However, that understanding still prompts the question, what does it truly mean, in the ultimate and vital sense, to avoid conformity to the zeitgeist, social norms and allowable opinions? For many are those who talk like nonconformists who still end up readily kowtowing to political correctness (the narratives echoed by massive corporations in society today) and other ideas that humanism perniciously imbues. Wouldn’t it be more profound to not merely refuse substances (l’m straight edge too) but the ideas and spirits which animate the “NPC’s” of the world? By this I mean transcending the tumult (the narrow dialectical notions) in search of something transcendent, eternal, sacred and changeless (“a truth without alteration, standing back of all”)? It seems to me that people settle for these sort of superficial forms of rebellion which we might call “being ourselves.” But what if being ourself according subjective notions of individuality means being a murderer or being a man who claims to be a woman (who rejects his immutable physiological makeup to the point of self multination)? Was Jeffrey Dahmer being himself? Was that black dude who ran over all those whites in Waukesha being himself? Rather, let’s be ourselves in the most profound sense by becoming what our maker intended in having made us all unique, but also according to His divine image (see the concept of theosis in patristic literature).

one of the most technically talented hardcore punk bands ever! similar to bad brains in that regard, talent of a metal band with the attitude/rawness of punk rock and hardcore punk bands! vision is way too underrated, watching the world burn was the only album by them that is somewhat known in the mainstream because of the punk o rama and epitaph attention! great fucking band!
