Depression is a long term disorder, but with medicines symptoms can be controlled. There is nothing to suggest that once medicine is started, it has to be taken long term, that's a misconception.

Antidepressants might contribute to some amount of weight gain. But anyway try exercises like yoga, which is good for mind and body. CBT will also help reduce some of your symptoms, along with medication.

Dear Ma'am I dont know if you would read my comment but pls do reply me if u see my comment. I'm a CS professional student and I'm left with only one module. I try a lot and work hard but when exams come I feel blank, panicky and that results in failure. I'm facing continous failures and Its really hurting when you fail even after putting all the efforts. I feel really down and doubt my caliber. I dont cry in front of others . I control it and cry loud when I'm alone till my head aches. Always having negative thoughts, inferiority complex and hopelessness when I face failures. Everyone motivates me but still I feel motivated for some time only. Everyone says its not depression . Its just my imaginations. So I'm confused on how to sort out. I want to stay positive but I'm unable to find a solution to it. I dont even know if its depression or anxiety disorder.
