Soil testing is required in New Development area. Towns having past record of soil and building performance don't actually need soil testing for small projects. For larger projects soil testing is recommended as Ground water level is very notorious in that case.

It depends on how far apart they are. 3 meters apart 20x20cm, 4 meters apart 25x25cm, 5 meters apart 30x30cm. use 8 or 10mm rebar for stirrups (never use 6mm).

My problem also same . On Slope side I made 12 feets returning wall . My colunm debth is 7 feet in the downside & used 16 mm 4nos & 12mm 2 nos of rode with 4 by 4 feet mat. And on the upper side I made 5 feets of debth of my colounm and the gap between colounm is 15 feets . My question is it ok to contruct G + 2 floor on this foundation ? I m in very much puzzle . Sir G + 2 floor ke liye p/beam ( jo niche lagate he ) 1 lagaye ya 2 lagaye . Mera mistri ne colounm ki size 12 by 12 ( jisme 16mm 4 aur 12mm ke 2 rode , ties gap 6 inch 8mm rode ) debth 5 feet jaha saqt mitti aur 7 feet jaha thori naram mitti he , Aur mat/ jali 12mm rode se 4 by 4 feet choddayi kiya he. Kya me isi foundation pe G +2 floor bana sakta hoon . Pls help 🙏

Better to dig up to hard strata put one bucket of water it should not drain out immediately in soil it means hard soil is reached for one story building more than three storey hard rock is always better no need of putting money in soil testing
