I have a dozen detectors and you'd be surprised what they are capable of picking up. One of them is a Compass cion hustler 1 I bought it in 1974 new and even though it's ancient in comparison to my AT Max it holds its own in depth and target location. There's no screen or sound separation so it's a dig it all dinosaur. But it is one of the lightest I own, and it's great for first time hunting. I dug up a roller bearing for a universal joint at 11" deep. It took a while to actually see it due to its small size. But it impressed me to find it all. I tried my AT Pro before digging, and it only gave me a scratchy signal I would have likely ignored. New or old, I think it's all in the design and construction that makes a detector decent or great. And sometimes old school picks up what newer ones discriminate out automatically. Testing your equipment is a great way to understand its capabilities. You should make yourself a test garden to really put your detectors through their paces. Still a very good video for people who are interested in purchasing one.

you know I always enjoy your videos . when your doing your depth test It looks like your only testing on the bottom of the coil . close to your ruler. anyway thank you for sharing.

i see the iron is notched out by the f on the score as u are testing the fresh looking battery at home the battery might of been rusted internally and it might of not been reading it might be a possibility

Jeepers, when I saw that big ruler I thought maybe we were going to get free quilting lessons that day. Ha Ha Zinc chloride and alkaline would refer to what type of chemical was used in the battery. I would think that the battery case or housing would be about the same in both batteries. I’m kind of an all metal hunter myself. I don’t want to miss anything. That was a very objective test ! Thanks for taking the time to do it !

when you make adjustment in customs turn down your sensitivity and it will not jump around on you.

Hi, I’m not 100% sure but, I think your dogs collar was creating the ghost chatter on your detector? It looked like he has a locator or invisible fence mechanism on it? If so, your detector might be picking up the signal like it would with your handheld detector. Thanks for your videos and happy hunting!

Sorry I’m late commenting. Just saw this really good video as usual from you. Many of your targets used in the test were mixed ferrous/non ferrous or had very low non ferrous target IDs like the small gold chain. If you want to hunt for really small gold jewelry targets on land, use M2 Park or Field and at least use the G discrimination mode so targets that have target IDs on the ferrous/non ferrous borderline between 8 and 12 won’t have poor audio or no audio responses. Sure, you could use the Double Score for gold prospecting as long as you were using M2 and Park or Field with the G or A discrimination pattern, recovery speed on 2 or 3, iron filter on its lowest setting (0?) and sensitivity set where the ground is not causing too much noise. I am a Legend user and I use it for gold prospecting frequently. It will easily detect tiny gold nuggets that weigh less than 0.1 gram. Your video showed how sensitive this Legend little sister is even using it set on M1 and with iron rejected it was still hitting both gold chains. Thank You for your awesome videos……longtime subscriber.

Does the double score use different size coils like some metal detectors do?

What was your recovery speed set at for this test?

It is possible that the coil has a crack from some impact and the coil threads are cut. 💐🌹🌻🌸
