As a fun fact, if you recognize some of the melody, some of it is based off the classical piece "Der Erlkönig" by Franz Schubert (and also arranged for solo violin by Ernst)! But the track from the game (by the artist Lappy) is a very different and modern take on it, but I love it! Hope you enjoy the song and video! 😄🎻

​@@chloemayhew it's the original composer for this song. Look up their KZbin channel, it's simply called Lappy. They were hired by Hypergryph to compose a soundtrack for their game. It's essentially a modern take of Franz Schubert's 1815 piece, Erlkönig.

The ongoing Arknights event is set in not-Austria and the obligatory romantic-classical music along with it. The boss of the event himself is based on the "Erlkönig" of the poem, insanity included.

I always felt this way about game music when I was growing up, even if you're not a gamer you'd still most likely enjoy it! I used to sneak pieces from the series Final Fantasy into my high school quartet's repertoire for weddings and people would always come up and ask about those songs because they really enjoyed them haha!

I hadn't heard about it until the anime released, but here's the quick summary: Arknights (Ark of Tomorrow) is a mobile free-to-play tactical RPG/tower defense game developed by Chinese developer Hypergryph (so it's NOT a Hoyoverse title like Genshin Impact or Honkai Star Rail). It originally released in May 2019, so despite similarities in the premise, it was NOT inspired by the pandemic, but it's focus on a Doctor leading a team trying to find a cure for an infection while battling various factions resonated with a lot of people during the last few years. Has a spin-off console game Arknights Endfield in the works. It's also got an anime with 2 seasons (8 episodes each) and with a 3rd season just announced. As for the quality....the anime is alright, but the game storylines are inconsistent. Voice acting is top-notch and animation is pretty good, but its Tone is VERY bleak so brace yourself accordingly. Reminds me of Nikke: Goddess of Victory, but Nikke has better writing and more consistent storylines. So my advice is to try the games or the anime, see if you like it and if necessary pull up a wiki to find out who is who. Hope that info helped.
