Odds are that she knew the mother of the baby prior to this (abductions are usually committed by people who are close to the victims) and was jealous that she had a baby, so she stole the baby to keep her as her own. She might’ve even deluded herself into believing that it really was her baby. This happens far more often than you might expect. Just look it up and you’ll find many cases of deranged women stealing babies from their friends and family.

The biological parents had nothing to do with the baby being left there. The baby was kidnapped from their home and then the kidnapper did everything else. The parents didn't know where the baby had gone and were just looking for her
