DERBY Works RAILWAY 200 Launch - GRESLEY, BRITISH INDIA LINE, Convoy & Pendo THUNDERBIRD Leaving!

See all of the guest locos leaving Derby Works on 30th January 2025 at the conclusion of the press launch day for the Railway 200 'The Greatest Gathering' event due to the be held in August 2025.
See the GBRf & Class 50 Alliance locos leave first by convoy - 50049 heading the locos out of the works before 69004 takes up the mantle onwards to Kidderminster.
Next to leave is A4 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' propelling it's support coach into Derby Station before exiting tender first towards Spondon - The A4 was to run-around in Toton to head back to Crewe in standard nose first formation.
Following up next is Merchant Navy class 35018 'British India Line' with a straight forward pass through Derby station, headed northbound towards Chesterfield and the Yorkshire dales on-route back to it's home base at Carnforth Steamtown.
Last and not least is 390200 (390016) Avanti West Coast class 390 Pendolino - Under the stewardship of DRS Thunderbird loco 57307. See the Bodysnatcher run around before exiting towards Sinfin and Stenson Jct to drag the unit back to Crewe and the OHLE.

Avanti could have made more of an effort with a rebranded livery considering it is a 200yr anniversary and the pendolino may be lucky to get to the 300th celebration.
