These reek of rebadged XLF. We had 2 XLF models and they were both the biggest doodoo cars we ever had. Ended up throwing both them in the trash, not even worth stripping down for parts. The Hosim 9155 was a formidable beast though. Passed it along to a friend and he's still bashing it with no problems years later.

Yup I had the xlf x03 a couple years ago and did the same thing. Had absolutely terrible gears in it. Definitely based off this chassis but not sure who did it first because this is also the same chassis as the older Hosim x07/x08 lol. So far this seems to be improved. We have already ran it more (at a new sick jump spot I can’t wait to show soon!) and still no problems.

There’s something about the newest version I’m digging. I even like the silly bounce from the shocks. However I refuse to purchase an rc over $100 that has friction shocks. I think you made an excellent point in saying you probably wouldn’t want to upgrade it and just drive it as is. Awesome video, very informative. Thanks again for the great work 👍✌🏼

I am too. I even saw a post just today from Hosim about now using upgraded helical gear diffs. Not sure they’re in this model as they said they will be in every new model. So that’s cool. About the shocks, I even made a point to say I don’t think friction shocks should ever be on an RC over $70, but since they actually didn’t do too terrible, I took that out. It was actually sort of amusing the way it bounced on the dirt. Still needs oil shocks 💯! Thanks dude!!!

Ya the diffs in the x07 are trash! Busted after a few packs. I think this car’s less punchy motor may be part of what is saving them lol Sounds like the newer X27 has upgraded diffs. I’ll be popping it open to see. Thanks!

Great review Evan ! I have the X16, funny the 16 came out before the 15 LoL! Any way, I found these trucks to be awesome back yard bashers. When I tried 3s in mine it worked ok and I experienced the same issue with the rear dogbone coming out. I recommend taking a closer look at that diff cup, or drive cup. The reason my dogbone kept coming out was because the drift cup cracked all the way thru on one side allowing the dogbone to find a way out under that extra power. Definitely register yours and contact Hosim regarding the issue. They will want pictures sent of the issue, but will send you a small bag of spares very quickly. So it’s worth registering. I think these do great on 2s tho. Like you said, there’s no real need to go 3s with these. They do it but they get wicked hot and the plastic drive cups can’t handle the extra power. Super fun basher tho. I like to run mine with my hbx 901a . Very similar in performance! Great video as always! Interesting about the plastic dogbone popping out of the rear end there. This looks a lot like the failure mode of the HBX16889 platform. Once they start to get a little wear and some stress the dogbones pop out of the rears pretty often. On those the solution is full metal upgrade. Not sure if that's available for these Hosim rigs or not. It would be interesting to see if or how much the problem gets worse over a few more runs.

Thanks!! Yup I had that issue with my old 16889 quite a bit. Thats the drawback of the flexible arms but helps keep them from breaking. On the hbx, the dogbone could get lost lol. Atleast with this one it will stay attached if it doesn’t actually break! 😊😃

They look like good cars and they can take a beating. You really show what they can take, which is good for us. I think the only problem is the price. They are basically $160 on Amazon,.Some of the HBX and Hyper Go cars are cheaper. I think the lawnmower test was one of the most extreme. Keep up the good work.

The downside i see to an outrtunner motor (if I'm getting the name right, probably not) is that you would struggle to cool it. You'd have to put a fan behind it, if there was space for it.

Hosims are a little brake heavy, they like to Cart wheel, adjusting throttle trim helps some.

Hosim sent me the x07 a while back I guess they didnt like it when I said it was undriveable lol the springs were too tight, and the flimsy shock tower was too much. I do need one of those mowers for review lol

Ya they didn’t like my x06 review one bit last year. Sounds like they’ve fixed their diffs though. I really liked the x07…until once again…the diffs went out 😂

slide second strap under battery. Tighten the original strap then use second strap to strap to strap the battery to the original one.

The strap they give is too long for that, but that’s the best option! Just need a shorter one. A bigger battery works good too 😂

When you win, I’ll probably recommend the 14209 or 14210. Good on or off road, minus the 14210 being a bit harder to control, but it is better for jumping.

I know this probably wont be seen or acknowledged but is there a way u can check out the x07 again. I bought 1 from amazon and the servo screw came out and some plastic broke a little bit so i sent it back and got a new one and the 2 cars/truck whatever u wanna call it was 2 different trucks. The motor on the 2nd one i got was a different motor and was 4mph faster on the exact same battery. This is my 1st true rc car and im trying to get into the hobby and im looking to find a decent 1/10 scale truck to play with and so far this one has been pretty fun but im 100% open to better options

I no longer have the x07, but they have the new upgraded x07-W. amzn.to/3ZbyrJh However it’s closer to a 1/12 scale like the original x07 is. I’m about to have a video come out on a new model that is actually 1:10 and so far seems to be pretty awesome and it’s practically the same price.

Yes I know the 14210 is a small car but was the only one I could find that came with what seems like a normal sized battery that would fit ( bc I bought 4 extra batteries for my hosim ) 100mm long I believe

I just don’t think the drivetrain will be able to handle it. The gears may have only survived because that motor isn’t super powerful, even though it still moves the car around nicely. If you’re looking for cars to upgrade, there are definitely better options. These are good the way they are in my opinion 😊. So glad you love the videos dude!!! 😃

Yeah it means nothing... since the company makes the rc cars not the batteries they but it from a cheap source and with the wrong label you coldn't tell the difference beetween Li-ion or li-po-s. Outrunner motors are cheaper to produce. There is no advantage in an RC car using an Outrunnere. It's kinda silly. Usually, they are for direct drives like RC planes and drones and not gear drives. For crawlers, they are good because they have great torque and starting power for their smaller size. Mostly it's because they are cheap to produce. You can buy them for dirt cheap.

True! The older models I hear complaints on people blowing diffs quite often, but this one, I don’t think the motor has enough power to blow diffs easily. Plus, the plastic axles will act as a buffer for them too.

Yup it’s not a perfect system. However the car was going really fast. For a kid or pet walking up to it, it stops, backs up and attempts to go around. If someone ran up to it and did a slide into it like it was home plate, yes, goodbye toes. The good thing is, you can set this to cut at night or any time when kids or pets won’t be out. I put it through as many scenarios as possible for that video. Lol

Yeah those are outrunner motors more common in crawlers and rc speed boats their main advantage that they took up less space and for the same size they have superior torque but worse top rpm. Oh and they aren't as durable in shitty conditions like mud and gravels unlike basic a$$ inrunner motors they are comparable to brushed motors against water and mud etc....
