The entire album was hacked. Many songs had yet to be finally edited. Many had yet be mastered. Some didn’t make the cut. It was devastating. Business wise of course but beyond hurtful to her as an artist. I’m not sure she will ever recover. But. It was a good album. Her work continues to evolve. Always something.

Am I the only one who just realized this album cover looks very similar to her first studio album cover? Notice the same hairstyle, both in black and white and instead of rubber bracelets on her wrists, she has a similar material in her face. One of the reasons this track works so well is that it is performative in nature, that is, it performs physical desire via a throbbing-like (heart)beat and performs the openness of heart (required for love) through the emotionally-charged chorus. Loving thoroughly is loving someone inside and out. This is just one of many gems on Rebel Heart.

I like it except I think the lyrics went too far and are pretty disgusting. I hate when she goes things to be ‘controversial’ just for the sake of it. I gave a theory that she does it do she can explain the SEX book to her kids. As if to say ‘yes I still do that and I’m not ashamed, it’s all art and politics’. I get that, as they woukd ha for found out about SEX book at some point and now they won’t be shocked.

If the label had pushed Ghosttown as the first single, it could have been a smash! Joan of Arc and Devil Pray are also amazing - and Wash All Over Me and Hold Tight could have been big too. Rebel Heart original demo is wonderful too. So many incredible songs on this under-appreciated album - radio missed out .

The male voice saying “one more time” is Kanye West. This is one of the tracks he coproduced for this album. Rebel Heart was a great album. I feel like due to lack of air play (probably because of her age) it did not do well. Madonna is an amazing song writer and performer. Please review Best Night and Messiah from this album.

One of my favourites of Rebel Heart. Even though I don't like everything about the production - like the background yelling and the overpowering drums - I love how the very dark and mysterious elements of the intro and the verses dissolve into that very romantic chorus and bridge. It conveys perfectly the message that love can be a daring and adventurous experience in our lives, but really worth to be explored.

I love love this song. Same co-writers as Ghosttown, another absolute gem from the album. The lyrics have her unmistakable mark on them. That said, while I like this production, I much prefer the demo version. Rawer and the edge on her voice is more prominent. It's absolutely killer.
