This has always been one of my favorite Madonna songs and video. I remember waiting for the video to be shown on MTV back in the day. It was always an epic event when one of her videos was being shown for the 1st time. The remix for "open Your Heart" is also one of the best Madonna remixes produced. It was also exciting when I was at the "Who's That Girl" tour and she opened with the song remixed. The entire "True Blue" era was amazing!!!

It’s literally called a “Peep Show” they were a thing decades ago. You had to insert coins for the shield to lift so you can see the show for a certain amount of time. If you wanted to continue to watch, you had to keep adding coins so that the shield wouldn’t drop down and block your view. The military men in the video are in Navy uniforms (Dress Whites) they are not Marines.

True Blue is my first Madonna album, by the time the sub-tropical Asian island I lived was still very conservative and even she was already famous in the States and the rest of the world, we seldom saw her news before True Blue, and since I knew her, I fell in love with her music and look.

In my judgement, this is more or less Madonna's absolute best track, and that's saying a lot. There's more to this in the lyrics than just the innuendo; there's empathy, kindness and compassion. After all, who wouldn't someone with the kind of beauty, charisma, athleticism and fearlessness of a Madonna to come up to them and say "I see you, I want you, but I see how much pain you're in. I see you're lonely and insecure and afraid to reach out to someone like me. Come to me and let me help you and let's see if we can get better together. If you'll meet me halfway, I'll do whatever it takes to help you and together we can do anything." All of this is on top of a seminal 1980's dance track; the video just magnifies its greatness. It just can't miss. The videos of her performing this track live in concert and just owning the crowds are utterly mindbending.

The young boy represents innocents in video. Given her characters profession the boy is her anchor to her own innocents. That gentle kiss with boy at end of video is sisterly and was more for Madonna's character benefit. Her dancing with young boy was herself trying trying to retain her innocents. Quite the contrast of her job and the innocents of boy. I lived this video and song in real time in the 80's. She drove my hormone teen body crazy at that time. Memories.....

Even when the video came out, I never thought it was sexually explicit, the innuendos yes. The little boy, preteen is very much curious like any boy his age, but is stopped at the door from entering. People were quick to judge Madonna as always, especially the Catholic Church. And I can see why Madonna rebel. I was born and baptized in the Catholic Church, my family are hardcore Catholics. Big Madonna fans since the early 80's and still do to this day!

G'day it's Steven from Down Under Love this song I was seventeen when this song was released and i may have been a little naive at the time, there were so many excesses in the eightees and we were use to over the top things going on so much so that this was "no big deal" to the teenage generation. The mural at the start of the music video was The Andromeda In Chains by the painter Tamara Lempicka. And the men in tuxedos are cutouts of her paintings. The young boy was Ronnie Howard but because he wasn't able to tour with her for the Who's That Girl Tour because he didn't have a work permit. It was Chris Finch who was her backup dancer for this tour and he played the role of the young boy in the music video. The theme or the message of the music video is that Madonna chose to leave the world of debauchery and depravity in exchange for innocence by being with and dancing with the young boy. Madonna used the chair for both the Who's That Girl Tour and the Blond Ambition Tour for this song's performances. Since you like this music video you should react to her Who's That Girl Tour.
