I just want to say thank you for being honest. My perspective on said issues happens to be the same. There is hope and music will help us even in difficult times.

Really cool to see you show a Sea and cake album. I rarely come across albums by these type of American bands like Sea and cake or Town & country but when I do I always try & grab em. Thrill Jockey has put out a lot of great music. There's a pretty cool self-titled solo album by Sam Prekop from the late 1990s that he did with Jim O'Rourke that I was listening to a lot this spring. Subtle, soft and introverted but very good. Good stuff. Also, didn't remember it, but the guy from Far lippo lippi ended up founding and running the label Rune Grammofon that puts out a lot of interesting stuff in the world of experimental, jazz & etc.

Sad to hear of the passing of the talented bassist Tom Fowler. I was just listening to a Zappa album he's on, Studio Tan, when I read the news. RIP

Love the breadth of music from your reviews. I’m mostly into electronic and krautrock and new wave post punk. Interesting stuff I’ve never heard of! Keep it up…

It will be interesting for the UK national election tomorrow, with the predicted change of government. The BBC will cover it.

I'll be the first to admit I lack discipline in terms of archiving my music. I have random folders and hard drives full of random stuff recorded from all over the place. No rhyme or reason to it. I need to get off my ass and sort through things so navigating my past recordings isn't so frustrating...

Hey Dereck, I wish I still had at least some of my home made cassettes I made with my first portable cassette player. However what I really wish I still had was my first tape player which was a portable Panasonic reel to reel player I got in the early sixties. It had 5 inch reels and it was very easy to carry around. Those long lost reels I had were from the radio, records and some boxing matches when boxing was still a great sport if you were a boxing fan. I am sure you read about the new heat wave taking over in California. I read where it has been a long time since there has been something this extreme. And on top of that it is being blamed for new forest fires. Hopefully when it moves on it does not move east unlike the last time. Take care Dereck
