This really hit me very very hard. When this happened to hailey my mom and I were shocked and saddened. My mom's favorite show is dancing with the stars, we watch it together every week. 3 weeks later ....on December 30 my mom also suffered a brain bleed a grade 5 ruptured brain aneurysm. She went from being a very active independent nanny to in a medical induced coma. After months and months of surgery she is slowly recovering. She still has severe speech issues and hasn't hasn't walked yet. She is in subacute care adjacent to the hospital. I always make sure to put dancing with the stars on for her, she still gets so excited to watch. I can't wait to play this for her!!!! I was having a really hard week this week with the looming thought of the holidays coming and my mom not being able to come home. This restored my hope and determination to help her not give up on her recovery potential. Thankyou so much again for this moment.

This is just another example of why I respect Derek as a judge so much as a fantastic pro dancer himself, he never asks of the contestants to do anything more or give more than he is willing to put into it himself look at the raw emotions he and Hayley are showing here. If he gives the celebs a note I know its cause he also given himself the same note ten million times over and applies it to every dance and wants them to reach their best potential

This dance was everything and more. Watching the package before the dance truly broke me. This one truly hit home for me. I went through a similar experience with my mom. She was in the hospital two years ago, only for a week, and thank God she fully recovered. After watching the dance and hearing what Derek and Hayley were telling Alfonso and Julianne, truly brought me to tears. I started crying my eyes out. Like I said, it hit home. Luckily, my mom is better than ever. So seeing how Hayley recovered so beautifully was truly inspiring.

Life challenges will continue to happen; do not give up. The past two years of our 36 1/2 years marriage has been rough as we both recovered from an horrific snowtubing accident together.
