@@OldSoulNewLife I assume you havnt watched the second half of this season. I think the real question is how do we have a chance at all? We have inferior SP and batting down the lineup. If Rizzo, judge and Stanton dont play well in almost every game we will lose to the *stros once we face serious pitching. Let alone the Dodgers. Our batting lineup is constructed poorly.

I was born in 91 In NYC and every kid around my age who was a baseball fan in the Tri-state area wanted to be Jeter with a swing like Ken Griffey jr. It was a great time to be a kid and a Yankee Fan. Back then, my mother worked in downtown Manhattan and every year that the Yankees won the World Series, she would always act as if she couldn’t take us then surprise my brother and I and take us out of school to go to the parade .. 96, 98, 99, 2000 were all insane memories I will never forget. I just remember all of NYC in straight pandemonium especially during the subway series in 2000. Remember, this is pre 9/11 so there was no scare of outside threats, No smart phones, No Surveillance on every corner. The city was just rocking and New Yorkers were wild. Back in 2015, I bought my now wife to a game and realized that it was my first game that I have ever been to where Derek wasn’t playing. Seeing this video just affirms what I always knew as a kid, that Derek would end up in the HOF. Crazy how fast time goes. Thanks for the memories Jeets and giving all of us baseball loving kids a childhood to remember

We're either getting a new asst. GM or a new GM all together... Derek hasn't done that job yet so I'd see them going for a seasoned GM.... Theo Epstein knows how to put together teams... I truly hope Derek returns to the franchise he played his entire career with, and soon. I feel he could turn this team around from the front office. Maybe Hal should offer him the assistant general manager position. Imagine Derek and Cashman putting their minds together on potential trades and contract offers. Jeter knows how to win on the field, while Cashman has the ability to get the big names to sign the dotted line. With The Captain in the front office, I truly believe more big names would want to play under the big lights of Yankee Stadium.
