In September of 20 I test drove the 20 Accord 1.5T Sport right after test driving the 21 Civic Hatch 1.5T Sport. The Accord was more everything, power, luxury & features. I bought the Civic though because I was replacing a 6th gen 98 Accord EX 3.0 which I spent a lot of time and money making sporty and I drove it to the dealership. The 10th gen Accord just felt so much bigger and heavier than my 6th gen even if I hadn't modified it and getting to test drive it right after the 21 Civic Hatch Sport it was clear I wanted the smaller platform. My garage size also helped me decide. Accords are bullet proof if you take care of them. When I sold my 98 Accord EX 3.0 it had 238,000 miles on the factory motor and automatic transmission. The only thing that failed on that car was the factory paint job which you can see on many examples that are still on the highway. The clear coat wasn't sprayed evenly on a large amount of those 98 Accords and you see a line from the front to the back where the clear went first and the paint slowly disappeared. Sorry for the rambling. Great video and great car!

The manual was removed in 2020 and will never come back. I had a 2018 that was rear ended and totaled from it very sad day. There was no more manuals by the time I had to replace they had already stopped production. Less then 1% were sold as manuals that's why it's a dead transmission. Luckily it's still available still in next gen Civic one of the best 6 speeds I have ever had made in India...😂

@@kensmechanicalaffair He is probably referring to Sport Mode in automatic. In sport mode manual it does hold the gears. Hit "Sport" button, then pull the left paddle shifter to get the car into manual mode. The only time I am aware of the car shifting on its own is from 1st to 2nd gear, which is extremely short for this 10 speed AT and probably by design so that you don't break the transmission. But after 2nd gear, have control of all the remaining gears.

Y'all probably know this by now, but the difference between the Type R (K20C1) and Accord (K20C4) is the turbo, cams, and the way VTEC activates/which cam timings it advances. There are others I'm sure I'm forgetting, but those are the major ones I'm pretty sure of.

Only small performance I done to that car is upgrade the engine filter to AFE filter and same cosmetic job as his except get the window visors and the sunroof visor instead of chrome delete on the window. New to the car community and I am still learning as well. Had a 19 civic hatch before upgrading and definitely love this accord

I’m glad you had the 1.5t before hand. Most guys shit on it but just got straight to the 2.0t. The 1.5 weather it’s manual or cvt it gets up and goes. I got the 1.5 cvt for great fuel economy but have a PRL downpipe, PRL intake, full exhaust, pherbale stage 3. It moves for a 1.5 turbo

Just buy 2020 or early 10th gen used. I had one got totaled when it was rear-ended was best car ever had. Finding a used manual isn't easy they didn't sell well so there isn't alot especially in a 2.0t

Difference between k20c1 & k20c4 is fuel system , turbo , cams , pistons and block castings . cranks have different part #s and accord crank is called superlight . both are forged rotating assemblies if im correct .......

The Accord 2.0t Engine (K20C4) is very similar in make up of the Civic Type-R (K20C1). The Accord 2.0t is not a "De-Tuned" Type-R engine. But does share internals and components. But the Type-R (K20C1) is build for more power at higher RPM, where the Accords (K20C4) is more for mid-range power. That's the reason you will see the 2.0t Accords hanging with Type-R's (Stock vs Stock) in the lower speeds. But as soon as you get up in the 70-100 MPH range the Type-R is pulling harder. There is also better cooling and a larger Turbo on the Type-R (K20C1). The "De-Tuned" Type-R engine talk needs to stop. Once folks know the differences they would not call it "De-Tuned" anymore.

Is your Accord manual or Auto? The Accord is given a little extra low end torque in order to move the heavier car. So even if you did make it have more power, the vehicle is heavier. But, you could spend thousands of dollars that you don't really need to. These always benefit from mods to the exhaust but how much I am not sure on this car. Look for exhaust and front pipe, and then after that maybe catted down pipe. If you really want to race, you can purchase a crate Type R motor and drop it in here as is or modded with a bigger turbo and push 400 horses

dude its from meguiars! its the endurance gel line but make shur you buy the one with purple gel! best stuff ive ever used it lasts weeks even after washing it its crazy

And the fastest records right now are running 1140 the main issue is the feeling like everybody says you cannot put you cannot put a type arfuel pump or injectors or rail On the accord even though it's the same freaking block for whatever reason that Will not work and that is the main issue But once that issue is solved they will be monsters Remember that you're not having LSD so all these cars are coming out of a hole at 15:00 to 20:00 rpm's and getting 60 foots in 1 81 90 which is not conducive to running good times So that's even more impressive

How is the digg traction? Would be interesting with catless straight pipes. Is the boost limited in the lower rpm. Or full boost from the start. Meow like a car. Roar like a lion. Lol. the 10spds are a little different launching, if i launch in 2nd gear i spin till about 45. i see 21psi in 2nd and 3rd then 24psi 4th and up. if you brake boost you get no traction whatsoever but the advanced vsa does decent keeping the car moving and the wheels spinning
