I'm a beginner and I've researched all the videos for this dance. Girl you nailed it as it was choreographed by Bill Bader. I'm a stickler for details and while the other instructional videos are showing pretty much the same steps, you got each step in as it was written on the step sheet, especially the last set of 8 that they all seem to switch up, so I really appreciate that you're teaching the dance to be executed as the choreographer intended. Thank you!

I like this dance, good job! Bill (Bader) told us he originally choreographed this dance in 1990 because he bought Asleep at the Wheels version of Boot Scootin Boogie and he liked the name of the song and thought it would be fun to do a dance of the same name. As far as he knows he says he was the first to make a dance called Boot Scootin Boogie. He is so talented and this original dance is fun!!

Thanks! A nice lady taught me the Texas two-step, last weekend, at a place in Fredericksburg. So I was lookin' around at dance videos to see if I was doin' it right. They say the two-step is the way to a Texas woman's heart. Looks the boot-scootin' boogie could be the celebration dance a woman does once ya get to her heart. Thanks again!

I love several things about this. First your having fun, your smile is infectious. Two you teach it from the watchers pov. Third you look very fluid doing this. And fourth, you're easy on the eyes, no offense intended, but the booty looks amazing to me. I've done this dance for over 30 years now. I wish there was one standard version. It drives me nuts when you have a bunch of people out there and everyone doing something just a little different. The end result is the same, for the most part, but it doesn't look as good from a viewing standpoint I don't think. Great job ma'am.

I love watching all the changes with all the Line Dances thats going on,, its great. I teach the Original Boot Scootin Boogie from the 1995 in Calif. its what was popular. As a Instructor for over 20 years I am seeing the same dance step from the pass with new Names put to them. I teach the originals Western Linedance from the 90's. hope its not killed off again like before... I only make that statement for the love of dancing. I have people that get upset because they pay money for lesson then they go to another City or State and its not what they learned... thats what I mean by hope they dont kill it off again.
@billbader85345 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure why you called a 1995 dance "the Original" Boot Scootin' Boogie when 1995 was 5 years after the one Adria is teaching here which dates back to 1990. I guess you were referring to the first one taught in your area. This "Boot Scootin' Boogie" was the first line dance with that title and it spread quickly along the West Coast and was being taught in c/w dance bars in California's two biggest metro areas within months. By 1992 it had spread to places as far apart as Finland and Australia. Anyway, after 30 years and with great video lessons like Adria's, there are no worries this Boot Scootin' Boogie will be killed off by other dances of the same name. Happy dancing, Katherine, and I'm very happy to hear you are keeping the classic line dances from the 1990s alive.

You're a great instructor! I'm pretty sure I can learn this dance even at my advanced age. I don't care for the hands on the hips part. It tends to look too stiff and inhibits the inclusion of the upper body in the rhythm of the dance. Proving my point, you looked your best at the end when you went rogue with the upper body! Kudos for an excellent instruction video.
