I quit everything in 2010 and changed my people, places and things... even removed myself off of social media. I moved to a completely different state. People claim its "running away from your problems" but in the end that wasn't true. I'm not loyal to a location and relocating to Nebraska from Florida was the best thing I ever did for myself. I've been totally sober since May of 2010! Off of all of that jazz... not even cigarettes. I have no cravings anymore, I'm cured. Not remission. Not recovered. I'm cured.

@billj4525

It is hard. I actually had to move to a different state to get clean. I ended up having to cold turkey opiates, and it was just absolute hell back then, but worth it. I remember watching Derricks videos when I was sick, suffering, and crying from the torture, and he was very helpful to me in getting through those times. It's really really hard when you don't have money. My health was really bad too after 12 years straight of daily using and drinking as I never saw a doctor that whole time, but I ended up moving to a different state and started working out daily once I felt better, and physically i'm very strong and healthy now, but it took some hard work since I have 6 years now, and things are going great. You should maybe try exercising a little too when and if you can, hobbies are good. Drawing, games, cooking, pretty much anything you really like doing can be helpful Don't put too much pressure on yourself, just do the best you can and it will come. Different things work for different people, and I hope rehab works for you this time. You have to try put in the effort too though, and if you can workout and force yourself to do positive things in your life that will be helpful too. I wish I had more advice, but there are no easy answers. You got this though. I know you can do it, good luck.
@TaraTiaraBell
@TaraTiaraBell Жыл бұрын
@@billj4525 I did cold turkey a number of times, it was torture. I’m really happy for you you’ve been through hell and back and now you are reaching out to people like me which is much needed, thank you so much. I love to write poetry I wrote some of my best poems when I was in the worst situations of my life. Right now I just wanna get well and then I can exercise when I have my strength back. Thanks for your kind uplifting message it means a lot. Godbless you and yours and have a great day. Sending some luck 🍀 of the Irish 💕
@billj4525
@billj4525 Жыл бұрын
@@TaraTiaraBell Yeah, cold turkey is tough and not for everyone. It works for some people, but not everyone. I put myself in a situation in a different state where I had no dealers and I didn't know anyone, and it actually worked out for me. Cold turkey in my original state wouldn't have worked for me. I would have relapsed. That's awesome that you write poetry, that's perfect for a hobby, and something you enjoy. I feel like some people do write their best stuff when they're in their worst situations. You should maybe try to write some poetry in rehab if you can, also do some reading if you can maybe, if you like to read. Once you feel better, and your body recovers more, you can start with some light exercise and work your way up. Exercise is good for your body and brain, it helps release certain positive chemicals in the brain. It absolutely helps a lot, and was and is one of the most helpful things for me. I try to reach out to people all the time and give some advice. I really just want to see people happy and doing well. I hope I helped you though at least a tiny bit, or that I at least gave you a message you feel good about. I'm Irish too on my moms side haha, thanks for that. Anyway, good luck with everything, you got this. If you ever want to let me know how you're doing, or want to talk, or need anything, feel free to message me. Good luck, you can do this for sure.

Just finished the video it’s really motivating man I’m clean now it’s been 3 days or so off hash and I’m considering keeping it up I’m back on my antidepressants I’m more aware and more motivated to get my life together lose weight and live happily I quit my benzodiazepines I only have my lexapro on right now on a low dose of 10 mgs ive been struggling the past years from a codeine / opium addiction the craving were still triggered these couple last months mainly because of the hash I was consuming which made me not really good I thought it would cure most of my depression / anxiety which it did in Some days and rebounded on other days ( probably quality hash on the streets vary from one another ) but I think that was god plan to give me everything I wanted or craved for the past what like 7 years or so I had everything I really wanted from consoles to phones you name it and one point I gave everything away because I felt like it was driving me insane I was heavily addicted to it I gain weight when I had those technologies around me I was using them as an escape from any bad day or reality in general, and unfortunately after that I started getting into drugs my first drugs I’ve been abusing were Tylenol for sleep or anxiety and then it went from that to ibuprofen ( ridiculous I know ) and then from that I secured some bromazepam and that’s when my real addiction to pills started i started stealing more of them from a family member and getting high sleeping in class etc… until I ran out and went through hell after that I socred 6 boxes 20 pills a box of codeine/Tylenol and went crazy on those I got hella addicted to em when I noticed that my stash was getting shorter and shorter I stopped for a month or so and relapsed after that because of me failing my final exams , after that the big crush and karma came in knocking on me when I got high on an old lorazepam I found in my dads room mixed with like 90 mgs of codeine I was so delirious and out of my mind that I drank a beer and hash joint which is a no no the interaction was hell I felt chills and fuzzy and warm feeling but it all changed after a couple of hours I was on fire my blood pressure was up like crazy i was in so much pain and couldn’t breath the only way I got through that was to ejaculate which was an awful way because I couldn’t even get an erection pass that I got flu for a week went through withdrawal cold turkey made it without telling nobody in my family, after that I kept abusing old expired benzos I found in my family houses getting codeine pills from time to time making my own opium using potent poppy seeds I bought from the net it was a desperate way to get high until I said enough I checked in with a doctor puts me on a ssri & benzodiazepine treatment for 6 months the struggle continued with me getting my hands on another benzo script which made me go back to my twisted and sick way s this time I went to try hash weed and got addicted to it eventually ( keep in my mind all the money I was spending on my habits & treatment was stolen from my family or parents , what made me go this way in life you may wonder , well it’s the usual family problems my father is an alcoholic who worked at a very well paying job who went through his own problems which affected me tremendously my mother passed away since the age of 2 , my dad since then tried to marry himself a wife for me to be in a great possession but failed on two accessions on keeping his marriage together because of his weed benzo & alcohol use which resulted in me being in a sad confused mind state my father never taught me nor he was around when I was a teen I was naive and vulnerable so I was very easy to be influenced and pick a way without thinking of any consequence ever ) now I’m sober and religious I’m trying to get closer to god more and more and it’s going pretty well for me now I’m more aware of my flaws and ready to conquer my addictions and all the craving that come with it I’ve changed my environment I’m somewhere in a village where my grandparents lived once and I couldn’t be more happier I’m doing some home repairs right now cleaning stuff up doing sports walking running with my dog Im well off really 3 days sober for now I’m gonna keep it this way may god guide me to success and a better life overall I wish every person who’s struggling with some sort of addiction to not give up there’s always hope, drugs are temporary fixes for bigger problems in your life take a step back and really dig into your mind and try to find where have you messed up and start tackling that instead , drugs aren’t the solution and they will never be ( under supervision of a doctor or a professional it’s ok ) , live life as it is with its ups and downs and try your best to be closer to whatever god you believe in and trust me you will find joy the ultimate joy with each step you take into fixing your life and committing yourself to god , god bless y’all stay safe reach out don’t stand still and you’ll find help don’t lose hope man I swear there’s nothing that you can’t do or get over you just need to calm down and surrender yourself to god and healing .

I am recovered, cured, etc., clean and sober since 2010. We're not being cocky, we just moved on with our lives. You can too!!!!!

What happened to this account? I feel so many ppl used this channel to help them with addiction and even in recovery I liked to feel connected. I feel like you just let your viewers down without much care.
