Pls pray for me. I am desperate. This is my last hope. I tried to be less selfish….I hated my selfishness so much. But I just cannot turn my heart from self serving. I don’t want to live like this anymore. I want to love God with all my heart, but I can’t do it with my willpower. I know I need the power of the Holy Spirit . God is the greatest and without a doubt is number one in my life since I come to know him. I had only just hours prior to listening to this video come to the very same realization spoken of by Derek Prince in his speaking on love in the context of loving God and loving our neighbor. I went on to think about how we're given free will to choose how we are to conduct ourselves throughout our lives. Then, I thought about what it means to really take full responsibility of our actions in how we accept the consequences of our behaviors for whatever the outcome be of the choices we make. I've come to see how easily I can come to point the finger of blame on anyone but myself over a negative outcome of my choices or if something happen not ecpectedly or if things just simply gone wrong. Even when my choice be in the name of doing the right thing in my own eyes so I may claim Ibe in the right should something go wrong, thus turning fault away from me for having a "valid excuse" for my choosing not to show selfless love for my neighbor. Having such an excuse doesn't make my choice right it just serves to have me believe I'm making the right choice and doing the right thing when I choose not to participate in loving my neighbor as I love myself. For example, if I see my neighbor need help and I give reason for not helping be for feeling a sense of being overwhelmed or over burdened bring upon me a great sense of oppression to get involved in helping. This excuse, albeit said in truth, allow me to remove myself from the situation but not come from a place of loving my neighbor. Yet, in in my own mind my reason for my non participation is said to be in the best intetest of both my neighbor and of my mental health well-being. When by God's by way, this only be an excuse for not choosing to behave in a loving toward my neighbor. I thinking of my needs over my neighbors needs thus preventing me from behaving lovingly towatd my neighbor. This behavior not one of loving one's neighbor and therefore not come from the spirit of love. No matter how well intended my actions and reasons be for my choices, if my actions not come from a place of selfless love, then those actions not coming from a good place. Any and all such choices can then be said to be influenced from a spirit other than love if they be made in a way that conciders taking care of one's own needs over the needs of their neighbor. Unwittingly, choosing to be influenced by something not from God is not something God would call loving thy neighbor as one would love oneself. No greater love is there than for one to lay down one's life for a friend. I can't recall the origin of this scripture but I see the love one is to ultimately build to. Putting the needs of others first is the ultimate show of love. We have been given the greatest example of love from our Lord Jesus himself. We are not to make an excuse as to why we can't do something but rather are to put ourselves aside on order to love our neighbor in their time of need. Then, their be no pointing fingers as what Adam and Eve did in the garden when each of them blamed the other for their own choice of choosing to go against Almighty God. Rather than choosing to accept unto themselves the consequence of their own choice they choose not only not to love thy neighbor but to put the blame for their choices on someone other than themselves. For whatever their justification was for choosing what they did, they went against God. Each choose to go against God and therefore their actions not done out of love for God or love of God. But, done so for their own selfish reasons. This is the sin nature we, humanity, have all inherited since we all coming from the first human beings to have been created, Adam and Eve. God created us with this nature and in his wisdom, he created a system where he would ultimately bring us into the perfection he invisioned we have when all is said and done in his molding and shaping us. I've only relatively recently, in August 2018, come to know God was real on earth even though invisible. For more than 50 years, I had believed my own idea of believing in God's existence was good enough to get me into heaven. God sure showed me the truth when by a miracle he got my attention and held it to show me that my way wasn't anywhere near good enough to get me into heaven. God showed me that his way was the only way. I had come to seek God when finding myself seeking the truth of the world we live in. Too many things in the world just weren't making sense and didn't seem right. Something seemed very wrong with the world. Then, having found myself with nowhere else to turn but to God himself for answers to the truth about the world, I called on God's name wanting to know the truth from him directly. I already having concluded, after a self evaluation of my beliefs and where they came from having revealed to me that God was not only real in this world, even though he invisible, but that God and his word are the only truth in this world. And, since God and his word are the only truth in the world, they became the only things that I could trust and count on. Since then, I came to want to know everything I could about God. Then, coming to know God I came to love him deeply. As my love for God grew my trust and faith in him also grew. Then, something unexpected happened as I came to learn about God, I came to know his God's only begotten Son, Jesus, and what they both did in the name of love for us. God's Holy Spirit has supervised my coming to know God and Jesus and their will through coming to know and understand them through his written word. God has been completely truthful and faithful to his word in all the time I've known him. Since coming to know God, the same whom I've come to understand as being my Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ, he has been the most important part of my life to this very day. When upon my coming to learn of the great love Jesus has for us, the only thing I can do in demonstrating my love for him is to give all I am to him and live my life in a way that shows Jesus just how much he means to me. The only thing I have to give and therefore the very least I can do is to give my life over to God. I pray that the Holy Spirit increase in me so that I may know God's will and this do his will on earth as it is in heaven in order that I please and glorify my Lord and Savior. Giving myself to God in obedience to him is the only thing I have to give. And, simply from the love I feel for God, I want to give him whatever I can as an expression of my thankfulness and gratitude for all that Jesus is and for everything he does. God is deserving of all the glory. I pray I may be a good and faithful servant and meet the expectation he have planned for me when he having created me. Thank you Lord Jesus for the breath of life given by you to us and for your great show of love to us in how you've spared nothing to see to it we have all that we need and could want for nothing but to be with you one day as your will be for us in our full perfection for your glory. God's peace be unto all.
