Cleansing is connected with both blood and water in Scripture, "The blood of Jesus Christ…cleanses us from all sin" (1 Jn. 1:7) and, "that He might sanctify and cleanse it (the true Church) with the washing of water by the Word" (Eph. 5:26).

He is referring to the sacrifices the priests did every year on the altar in the old testament. The blood shed by them wasn't sufficient which is why they had to do it on an annual basis. It was only when Jesus shed his blood that his sacrifice was final and complete.

This man was ignorant of such things. The Church Fathers have taught on such matters since the start of Christianity. This preserved in the Catholic Church. Mother Mary is the new ark of the covenant, who carried Jesus in her womb. Jesus is the new law giver, representing tablets in the ark. The mercy seat represents a propitiation of mercy, Queen of Mercy. As taught by the Church Fathers, when Mary accepted to bear Jesus, the Kingdom of God was divided into two: the Kingdom of justice headed by Jesus and Kingdom of Mercy for which Mary is the Queen of Mercy. These are teachings of many saints, including St. Alphonsus Liguori, Doctor of the Church in his Book Glories of Mary. The manna in the ark represents the Eucharist, which is only found in the Catholic Church.

@ewangsinclair16 It is you who need understanding. Read Daniel 2; 44- 55 and Matthew 16; 16- 19. The Rock therein described is St. Peter. He established the Catholic Church, which established God's kingdom on earth. It replaced the Roman Kingdom as described by prophet Daniel therein. It has been there for over 2000 thousands. It is a kingdom that shall never be destroyed or left to another people. The teaching of the Church has been clear and consistent for over 2000 years. Therefore, we don't need ignoramus to teach us their own doctrines or at worst doctrines of demons, as it happens in many protestant sects.
