This pick up bed crane from Harbor Freight has been installed on my utility trailer for about 6 months now. It’s held up in the weather ok and has served me great. One of the handiest tools I own. I’ve used my crane to pick up (empty) 250 gallon IBC totes, 3 point blades, zero turn mowers and other equipment.

Devices that save you body are some of the most important tools to own. You can buy another crane, you can't buy another spine

God bless America. What would we do without all these amazing tools that are hard to come by in many countries but we can just go pick one up from the store up the street.

@@jonathantenkely2493 there are made in USA but more expensive, and often in many products they will only switch the made in china tag to made in USA to sell it for more.

a simple small cover over the jack area will keep things from rusting or do like i do and dismount only the top half keep in garage or back seat of track to keep out of weather. place a plastic soda bottle cap on the remaining tube to keep water out for those with out a hole through.

Used a crane like this for load large blocks of woods with log pincers. No issues worked great. Replaced hand crank winch with DC volt winch and worked great too.

Thanks for this video. I’m looking at one of these for a motorized wheelchair. I wouldn’t want to drop it to the trailer bed, though. An electric wench will allow me to lower the chair slowly, and safely.

Thanks for the review! I’m debating between this and an electric winch, same idea. I would use mine fairly often, and I just don’t want to pump and pump and pump. Next I’ll see if anyone had a solution to use a drill to pump a jack, seems like it should be fairly easy..i reckon I’ll do the same you did, except I don’t think I’ll bolt it on the trailer, I’ll just weld it in. One less thing to worry about, usually HF hardware is lacking..

I used my own hardware but great idea welding this in cause I had this stolen off the trailer about 6 months afters I installed it! That was a bummer!

just when i though it would be nice to have a crane on my trailer… did you mount the crane to the trailer? do you need any outriggers/support to lift the heavy stuff? nice video. my trailernis smaller. 1500 lb. my target is firewood.

yeah but did you see the release of the weight when turning the screw on the hydraulic jack. That looked really unpleasant. Does the winch allow for a slower release into your transport vehicle or trailer?

hi I just watched you video, thanks for sharing I've a question ,I intend to use it for hauling firewood from my ground level up to my patio deck through a flip door in the patio. due to the tight angles, I think I will be only using the hand crank, do you think its possible to lift approx. 250 -300 lbs. ? thanks

Could probably get rid of the wiggle where it pivots by just buying a gasket around that size and putting between it and seeing how long it lasts

If you release it slow the hydraulic you can walk over and guide your blade. I noticed you release it so fast which is not safe. If you lift heavy weights like me put something under the crane to stabilize the trailer or truck. Best investment and I like this model of crane because if the hydraulic fails you got the winch
