So why is it that everything seems broken? Even the weather. Nothing works as it should.

The country is hugely divided....men vs women, black vs white, rich vs poor, employed vs unemployed, straight vs gay.....the list goes on. The thing is we are all in this together no matter who you are....its the coming together thats needed. Unfortunately being so divided people need to put their prejudices down for the sake of the country. Looking around it looks like an impossible task for most

Spot on Al. The roads here around the Midlands are all broken, even the motorways. Roadworks every where, temporary traffic lights and nobody working on the roads either. Not to mention the incredibly heavy electrical vehicles breaking the roads up even more and the pot holes are turning into craters. £60 now for taking the garden waste away and I have now declined their kind offer. What a kerfuffle regarding your 'Toby' box that I'd never heard of.

Where did it all go wrong? 3 of the main problems to begin with : Immigration on a industrial scale, immigration from the 3rd world, illegal immigration . You would have to build a city bigger than Liverpool every year to accommodate 700,000 that arrive on an annual basis which means everything is overwhelmed or overcrowded; infrastructure, health, housing and of course prisons etc ,etc. They won’t give you a demographic breakdown of the criminals for obvious reasons .I could go on!

Yes, I know what you mean, always seems to be problems with things. I've been with BT Internet for nearly 3 years which has been fine, good enough for me, and in that time I had lightening fibre knock on the door saying they want to lay the pipes and wires in my close, (don't know about toby box)it's a private close as such and me and most of my neighbours as far as I know didn't allow them to carry out that work, so nothing was installed, we are happy with what we already have. it's a good job we did,as I heard a few months back that they were going down the pan, so seems like we avoided a load of aggro.

Great video Al, all very true. To add to your thoughts of nothing working properly - nothing impressive or exciting seems to go on any more in life. Think back to the 60's when we had Concorde - groundbreaking technology being implemented. The 1930's - the television arriving in the UK. Sending a man to the moon in the 60's etc. All these impressive feats of either technology or brainpower that used to happen in the 20th century, now we have the internet and all the information we could ever want or need on pretty much every subject on the planet, and there's absolutely nothing of any interest going on. Everything is all doom and gloom - especially from the mainstream media. Technology seems to have stagnated the past few years. Every year Apple brings out a 'new' iPhone and a 'new' iPad which is just a rehash of the last year's model and the year before that. Prices of things just seem to go up and up and quality of everything in life keeps going downwards. Anyway, enough moaning from me 😄

£45 per each green waste bin here, my garden is pretty big and we used to pay for 2 bins cos they were £30 each until this year, only paid for one this time, going to put the excess into black bin bags and add it to general household bin and what we can’t fit into that will be getting burned - sorry not my problem, we already pay council tax so it feels like we’re paying twice, not doing it anymore. The whole country is now built against us ordinary folks, everywhere you turn and everything you do is met with obstacles, hiccups or too many rules and regulations, most of it geared around money. We voted reform and are hoping next time the rest of the country will follow. Message to ALL - please DON’T leave derogatory remarks in response to how I voted - it’s still a free country, sort of………for now anyway xx

All boils down to the way big companies think and poor managers. They have engineers on salary who they see as a cost so they just use them and they take the micky to get one back on the company... Not my job to work this mess out but I don't care because I'm on peanuts. It's just a system of not my job and I don't care as no one cares about me. Usually the company those road engineers work for don't care to listen to them they've probably tried to change it but no one cares higher up. No idea how you'd change it to be honest other than customers voting with their feet but everyone just goes on price these days so will never change. The only way to get good companies is to reward the good ones with your custom and punish the ones that are bad.

Moved into my current house 24 years ago. The area was cabled up by Virgin but as my house was new, it had no cable. Rang Virgin Media and was promised it would be done within 12 months (I can see the Virgin media box from my door). I asked every two years "where is my cable" and was told each time "soon". Openreach came down the street and installed fibre, one of the main boxes is at the end of my drive and as VM was doing nothing, I signed up. Strange that Virgin came down two weeks later and started putting their cables in (the existing ducts had plenty of spare capacity). Anyway my house is at the start of the estate and all the cables went past my house but Openreach started connecting people at the other end of the estate so I had to wait 7 months to be connected. VM emailed me for six months saying my area was now active but it was too late, 23 years too late.

AL,ring up the broadband company and open up a complaint. A similar thing happened to me with my BT full fibre connection it took 5 months instead of a couple of weeks that l was booked in for. Therefore, it was 100%thier fault. They waved installation & equipment cost also like you my contract had run out and compensated me for the extra money l had paid because of that. They then offered me a much cheaper monthly price to compensate for all the trouble they had caused.

Anyone who is old enough knows that the whole show has been going down the drain for some time. Remember the days when companies were concerned with supplying a decent service to their customers instead of the current lot who spend their time trying to work out ways to get one over on the punters without them noticing? Remember recently when no one could afford to heat their homes so the power companies put the standing charge up so they could sting the punters even when they not using power. Shower of crooks. Europe is in decline too and we won't escape that because as the older voters die off the younger ones will be persuaded by a biased education system to take us back into the EU via the back door.

Councils have had something like 50% cut to funding since 2010 and they are capped at the amount they can increase the tax. So they are using other means to pay for essential services. It's a bit like universities. They have the fees capped at 9k and it costs more than that for every undergrad student. So they cut everything they can and try to make up the difference elsewhere (hospitality, rents, postgraduate fee, international fees).
