Listen. Derez first album carried me thru the roughest time in my life. I lost my job, my car and house in the same month. Same month my my best friend passed away due to Diabetes, my Favorite aunt passed a month later and my grandma passed a month after her. I was depressed. Out of it. Thought about suicide multiple times. I was so fucking lost in this world. Mind you I’m a music head. Since Sir Mix A lot. Outta everybody I have ever listen to over the past 33 years nobody hit harder then Derez. I related to absolutely everything. The shoot outs, the trap, not seeing my kids, facing time. Losing homie after homie due to gum violence or disease. Lord Forgive Me made me cry every time I heard it. And this is the same vibe. Even though he isn’t what mfs listen to these days his message powerful. He speaks about the dark side of being in the streets, broken homes etc... If anybody reading this that’s going thru it know better days will come. It don’t matter if you’re street, square, black or white. It’s someone with a voice who knows exactly what you going thru. God got us 🙏🏾
