I met Piers inside and we both spent the last 6 months of our sentences spending hours a day painting and chatting shit, we became very close friends and saw a lot of each other on the outside. Despite his many mistakes (of which Im certainly nobody to criticise) he is an intensely loyal and principled man, with a wealth of insight about a wide range of things and a profoundly strong mind. It makes me really happy to finally see him out again after his second sentence and grabbing life by the balls, after everything he's been through!

related with s much. done time in Elmley next to Swale side and spent s year in Camp Hill next to Parkhurst. Oh and I was also at Guildford crown court the last time I was sent down. ohh and I was in Coldingley and ghosted to Isle of Wight from there. 😅

I have been incarcerated with Piers … our paths crossed twice, 2004 and 2021… both on separate sentences… a gentleman, polite , intelligent , fit as a fiddle and strong as a Ox… i am proud to call him a friend ..

Never let the past define you this applies to any of us, always learn from mistakes & remember being contented for what you have in life a price is always paid for the quick rich ways they never really prove worthwhile in the long run. Piers has proven this so learn from the time & price he has paid great interview Shaun in fact probably one of the best of any podcasts of real life experience's. Patience is everything.

Fantastic interview with a really interesting man. THe bit about boiling oil made me squirm. Back in the 80s in my village. an 18yr old girl, jane was staying overnight with her bf. He got up and decided to make a pan of chips or fries. He got distracted and the pan caught fire. she came running down in a silk night gown . Thte bf picked the burning pan up but dropped it through being burned. The on fire oil went down her front . Took years of skin grafts to repair damage. Anyway i digress. great episode Shaun 👍

Super articulate and interesting character, and a great story teller. Find it so strange that he was in so deep at the time of his first arrest, aren’t people supposed to go to jail a couple of times and meet contacts before they get so heavily into crime?? 😂 He didn’t go into massive amounts of detail, but I assume that the foreign country incident was him walking into a robbery/murder scene? Quick tech question, it sounds like there is phasing on Piers’s microphone, what/why is that?

When you asked, did anyone say a good word about when you got sentenced, “my skydiving instructor wrote a lovely note” you know your loaded when you have skydiving lessons 🤣 the note read “he’s a sound guy and always pays in cash”🤣

Enjoyed this,one nitpick if I may?POCA and the financial detective assigned to track down your assets don’t always strip you of everything,they ask you to list your assets,bank accounts,properties,safety deposit box,investments etc,tell them nowt,they don’t have the ability to track everything down.😉 but they do want their share of your earnings,look on it as legal theft,their tax.

Shaun congratulations to you and Jen on bubba Ziggy loved that vid ❤ thank you.. however I'm so bloody fed up of all types of pod casts of crims prison officers and governors.. or fictional programme who never featured detox nurses.. I'm a ex fully registered RMN worked in prison and witnessed awful things.. I asked real porridge (SAM) to put my side to what I witnessed and he never got back to me either.. I feel for these guys it's a mission but nobody talks about the nurses who are looking after them and what PTSD we have after either leaving voluntary or just pushed by institutional bullying x

Piers is a charismatic man, you can warm to him easily, despite his bad-boy background, I hope he goes on to be very successful, I can remember all the fuss from the media of the time, who depicted him as some kind of a monster, far from it he's an intelligent man who has most definitely paid his debt to society and then some, I wish you all the best Piers.
