About 20 ago one of my sergeants in the army was a golden gloves winner from Puerto Rico. He used to spar with us (mostly for entertainment). I'm a total potato but one time I landed a jab when he was off balance. Didn't hurt him but he did slip and fall. He popped back up complimented me and proceeded to put on a boxing clinic. He didn't try and hurt me, he just dialed up his focus and showed the difference in our skills. Anyone can get caught but a true test is how they come back from it.

Shields' trainer said the reason why she got knocked out was that she lifted her chin and was exposed. Shields statements have been delusional (about beating top ranked men) and border line criminal (stating that she went to her car to get her knife after being knock out and had to be restrained from using it on the other boxer).

I told him he couldn’t wear them sparring, and got some 16 oz gloves for him. The dad pretended he didn’t realize they were bag gloves, and I didn’t make a big deal of it, but my son went extra hard on the kid because of it. What I’m getting at here is that it’s just not believable that a big gym with all those coaches around would have let loaded gloves inside the ring. Someone would have noticed before the sparring even started. Gloves are monitored closely. Her story is not credible, and I seriously doubt any legit boxing people take her seriously

So she got cocky and started talking shit to him constantly so he decided to let one go to show her what his 100% may look like. Ironically I still don’t think it’s a full force hit, it just catches the chin in a good spot and knocks her out (not down, she wasn’t beating any count the way she fell). She knows this video shoots her whole “I could fight male champs” nonsense to shit so she had to make up an excuse. Derik has mentioned this twice on both of his interviews and Shield’s coach has never come forward to say it’s a lie or suing for defamation
