I can't tell if you are being serious about the first part, but I know that many people are serious when they say that, so I'll treat it as such. On one hand I agree, but on the other hand, I want assurances that the guy writing the firmware for pacemakers actually knows what they're doing rather than "just trust me bro". Unfortunately, it's also cheaper for a company to higher someone with a credible piece of paper than to look over an extensive portfolio of experience. The certification just indicates to the layman recruiter that you know your stuff and are worth more interviewing. There are too many people who know nothing and think they know everything. The school making you pay for classes instead of just testing you is totally a scam, however, there is a much higher quality stream of information (it is rather unlikely that your professor is teaching you pseudoscience to indoctrinate you into drinking the spicy koolaid), which adds a certain level of value perhaps. At the end of the day, you pass the relatively standardized testing from the institution to get the paper, attending the class is usually not mandatory, unless it requires laboratory credits, which is sometimes very important for ensuring best practices and safety precautions. Sometimes professors are impressively unhelpful, but they won't ever be actively harmful towards you like some random internet guru could, in theory, be, and often are(le magic glow in the dark health-particle-emitting crystals OooOoooOooo). Not that there aren't very good online resources, such as this guy and others. But yea, wish there was a better and cheaper system in place (some other countries seem to have it figured out, maybe). Meanwhile, professors gotta eat too, though.

For second derivative don't you just find the derivative of the derivative? And since it's usually a simple, standard equation at that point it should be easy

I'm kinda confused so this might be a dumb question; but why can't you just rewrite y in terms of x, then take the derivative of that function? Is it just easier to take the derivative in terms of t?
@tomatrix7525
@tomatrix7525 4 жыл бұрын
If I understand your Question properly, you actually could, for example look at the question at 3:20 where we must get dy/dx. Going by your method, we could rewrite tye function y=6t^2 -15t^3 in terms of x. To do this we must express t in terms of x. X =t^3 as given. So thereforr we could simply get dy/dx when we rewrite y(x) as a function of x. If x=t^3 then t = cube root of x Now for y= 6t^2 ......etc replace t for cb. Rt of x Derrive this new function and this IS dy/dx ( meaning derivative of function y in terms of x) This is an equivalently correct method and would be correct too!

@@sandrasarpong7148 it's like saying sin(30)/cos(30) can you cancel/cut both the (30)'s here? No you can't. You can however call it tan(30) which is the same as what happened in the video here.
