For treating acne scars, you would need to treat with a 1.0mm - 1.5mm depth, before the treatment it's advised you stop using actives such as AHAs and retinol for a couple of days, you need to make sure your face and hands are completely clean as you don't want any bacteria to be introduced in your skin, it goes without saying the microneedling device you use needs to be sterile as well, it is preferable to use a dermapen which comes with needle cartridges packed aseptically that you dispose of after single use, if you use a roller like the one shown on this video clean it woth 70% isopropyl alcohol, you don't really need to apply anything on the skin before or during the treatment but you can apply serums so long as they are specifically formulated for use in microneedling, with ingredients such as EGF, stem cells, etc.. after the treatment you don't want to use anything on your skin but a high molecular weight hyaluronic acid serum without any fragrances or irritants, no actives, especially nothing that has vitamin C or AHAs, the next day you can use a gentle cleanser and wear a mineral sunscreen if you're going out, use thay routine for the next two days after the treatment and for results you need to do this every 4-6 weeks, you should start seeing some degree of improvement after the third session

I’ve never had acne, but I do still roll it over pimples if I ever get one.
