Do you see AI as a tool of control, similar to what Orwell described, or was it just a creative choice to reinforce the dystopian tone? AFAIK, he never criticized it. Never. He's only stated how ridiculous some people think; that they are gonna one day upload their consciousness to the cloud. I completely agree that is one the most absurd things I've ever heard in my life. Likewise, he's also criticized weirdos like Yuval Noah Harari and says he is ridiculous too. Anyway, LLMs and image generators are not "true AI" anyway... They are advanced statistical machines. And Dero is a solo-artist and that's who these tools will serve the most! Anyway, I hope he replies to you; I didn't mean to answer for him or put words in his mouth... Just commenting!

​@@theg0t4 Some other commenters mentioned this before (along the lines what you are asking) but I don't see a huge connection to AI and 1984. I see it with the Internet and mass surveillance, yes. Anyway, what I mean by "true AI" is when you prompt the LLM or image generator, it's just like invoking a regular computer program with data. And the principle of garbage-in, garbage-out (GIGO) applies. But there is no actual cyborg mind creating the art or writing the response... No thinking at all. It's all just a bunch of number-crunching, on pretrained data. So, for thought-control and stuff... I just don't see the connection of these tools to 1984 because I know it's a bunch of linear algebra, calculus and statistics. This stuff is "narrow-AI". For the true AI, I think it's never gonna happen. But I think the stuff that exists now is going to continue to be harder and harder to distinguish from human! ;) Anyway, he didn't respond but I don't think there is any connection other than it's a new and powerful artistic medium. Ask him again; but maybe simplify the question if you want a response. He's pretty busy with his new album coming out tomorrow. Cheers!
