Yeah, Spence could end up the same way. If you look at his defense its lacking. He has a mexican style with no head movement. Leaning back is his defense. If he fought the same level of talent Shawns been fighting he would have been through some wars too. Brook was serving him before the injury took over. He looks like he trust his chin but i think its more like a Khan issue of getting caught up in his offensive work and forgetting about defense. Even Emmanuel Lartey stunned him in the 7th rnd and made him come out in the 8th backing up for the 1st time the entire fight, which was also the only round he probably loss. Hes not an accurate enough puncher to fight successfully on the defense.

I'm a fan of father/son relationships, and family. From the outside looking in I see tough love between Shawn and his father. Boxing is a tough sport that is best understood by actively doing it - in my opinion. Shawn comes across as a balanced young man who is a heck of a champion, articulate and likeable. So far Shawn's boxed pretty well to me, but his past few fights has seen him place more emphasis on attrition as his main strategy to overcome his opponents, which can appear reckless at this elite level.

His style works for him early in his career but as the opponents skill level increased he should have gotten a new trainer. His father can only take him so far. Know he has famed trainer Barry Hunter in his camp as assistant trainer and thinks enough time to learn what he needs to deal with the likes of Spence. Furthermore kenny is still calling the shots it has to be confusing and I hope he figures it out bc honestly I think Spence is going to hurt him.

Shawn porter is a good person he is tired of his dad talking reckless to him but he puts up with it for the love of his father we all do this but its going to come a time when father and son is going to have to depart from each other so that shawn porter can be his own man

Not sure he can escape the clutches of his dad now. I think he's a tad too late. He's not putting up with it because of the love for his father, but because he's probably trauma-bonded to him now. Such disrespect over a period of time breaks you, and a create a dependency on the controlling figure... taking away all the will to be your own person! Your own man, and makes you live to please the dominant/controlling figure. Walking on egg shells everytime you have to interact with them. If Shawn tries to leave, he'll be blackmailed back into Kenny's grip. I don't see him leaving any time soon.
