Man, even after that acl, he'd still be the fastest in the league. It just shows how much faster he was than everybody, I don't think Wall or Westbrook would have been a match for him if he was healthy all throughout his career.

Love that Rose did this before last season, prepared him tremendously. To my eyes he hasn't even missed a step through the injuries. He just learned how to reserve his self and play smarter. These highlights proved that and so do his highlights from this past regular season and playoffs. He'll be back being an all-star in no time, this man's will to never give up is another reason to salute him. Favorite basketball player since day 1, that won't change.
@IyahshYasharahla144k
@IyahshYasharahla144k 9 жыл бұрын
Exactly, he just doesn't play as recklezz as he use to so people who don't really follow him think he's lost athleticism when he really hasn't. The speed, the quickness, and body control is still in tact he just plays less recklessly. If anything he played more like him self in USA basketball than he did all season. He was really playing like himself during the beginning of the season, then slowed it down when he had the ankle and hamstring issues early in the season. I'm glad that he's finally back and playing like the real D-Rose and not some imposter

Tris A. He played pretty smart before the major injuries. Was averaging 25 and 8, and literally carried his team to the playoffs. Unselfish and didn't play reckless, just played his strengths. Those injuries were due to poor diet and lack of conditioning in that compressed lockout season, which really shouldn't have began at all. The speed is a noticeable difference from 2011 to 2012. He's just rusty, as you said.

I know Derrick Rose has his flashes of explosiveness even during this 2015 season with the face mask, but I watch these highlights and this looked like retro D-rose highlights. Storming up the court full speed, finishing in traffic, showing off his ball handling. He didn't dunk quite like he did in 2011 in these highlights, but he looked very explosive. Nowadays you just don't see that fire in him. I know he's got the blurred vision going on so I'll give him some slack for that, but his drives are just not quite the same. I can appreciate that he's changed his game a bit so that his in-game dunks don't blow his legs off or something, but I miss that fire you used to see. Lots of passion. Maybe he's still got it this year, but I haven't quite seen it. Anyways, reflective bulls fan here I guess. Hope he has a good season this year.

Yashmin Pascual You may be right man! But I'm not talking about his ability to score in the game, I'm just talking about his move set, in 2K lol. Nobody can hardly stay in front of him even now and his first step and layups are far from orthodox, not saying his actual efficiency brotha!

The NBA would be so different in the last decade if Rose were healthy. The NBA is supposed to have 3 all time greats besides Lebron in this era, and he's supposed to be the Best of the Three. Rose, Curry, KD

In my humble opinion, I think D. Rose deserves to be in the HOF when he retires. If you look back at his career until this point, he's won championship in high school, two Olympic gold medals, and is the youngest MVP ever (including other minor stats and accomplishments...). Like Melo, I think you have to look at his overall basketball career and not just his career as an NBA player.

I think Rose is just changing his playing style. I agree with the other comments. He's more pass first now. It seems like he's abandoning the athletic moves and leaps towards the rim for a dunk like he used to. He's still quick as ever but It looks like he's getting more focused on being a playmaker. I hope he can become an athletic Steve Nash. Just needs a jumper like Nash and he'd be set to be one of the top five pg's again.

Imo I always thought this summer he was in his athletic prime. I remember reading stuff about how he added 5 inches to his vertical after the injury and he was getting his head near rim on some dunk attempt highlights from this summer.

It's amazing that we beat all these teams by so much and we didn't even have the best nba players... So many decided not to play such as Lebron and cp3 and not to mention pg injury. If we had all those who decided not to play actually in fiba... Just wow

After watching him on Minessota, it's clearly because the Cavs stifled him there. They didn't know how to use him. So of course he wasnt effective.

If the Cavs had a clue they would actually have a shot at the NBA title this year with Rose and Lebron. I suspect that Lebron simply isn't willing to let someone else have that much control over the offense...
