I have been waiting for this Report! 1. Re-manufactured ammo is a roll of the dice. I previously used Freedom Munition reman ammo but with the round nose bullets. I didn't have too many problems but did experience duds. 2. Have the Langdon Tactical Technologies (LTT) Trigger Job In a Bag (TJIB) w/ 13# hammer spring installed on a Beretta 92. The TJIB also includes the Optimized Performance Trigger Bar that you were alluding to. Sweet shooter. No problems yet on igniting ammo. The LTT Trigger Bar is the upgrade on the top of my list for a Beretta 92. 3. No problems with the Checkmate contract magazines on my Beretta 92 or Girsan Regard MC. I kind of went crazy by installing Wolff extra-power magazine springs and aftermarket base pads. 4. Thanks for doing the Girsan and Derya comparison on the locking block and slide! This information is hard to find online. Awesome public service. 5. Leftie holster!?! I'm the same as well! I greatly appreciate and grateful for this Range Report. It's a bummer we didn't see any shooting footage but nonetheless the impressions and lessons are the most important.

The range was a madhouse and it would Have just been a mess. Completely non audible because of all the background noise and other numerous distractions. Yes You hit it right on the head Langdon Tactical, yup that's what I ment. Between the trigger bar and that I should be able to greatly improve the trigger pull. It's not bad now , but it could be better. The funny thing about the dud rounds was the fact that in the identical pistol the literal twin, It was able to function with everything not one dud and it was all the same lot of ammo... Weird. Any idea why the Girsan has a 5 1/2 lbs trigger vs 3 3/4 lbs for the Derya? Do you suppose it's just the fitting of the metal on metal parts or does the Derya perhaps have a lighter hammer spring?
@Sandhill1988Ай бұрын
@@plantguy100 yeah I've got some reasons why it would be like that, and I'm assuming you're talking single action pull weight not double action. It could be the difference in tolerance and fitment as you had mentioned, with a combination of varying spring weights. For example if you took both of these pistols installed the exact same springs you're going to get two different results. Both manufacturers use different grades of materials and their tolerances are slightly different. You could even take two identical pistols and get slightly different results because manufacturing varies ever so slightly from unit to unit especially when you get towards the end of a production run and you have to recalibrate machinery. It's amazing what a difference a hundred thousandths of an inch can make from pistol to pistol. I hope this helps clarify a little bit. Thank you for watching and commenting it's appreciated.

Have you compared the Malik to the Taurus 92 or the Girsan Regard series? I keep looking at these Beretta clones, but am not a big fan of the open slide and the narrow rear sight. The trigger doesn't seem bad in the Malik. I didn't notice much creep after you reached the "wall." Did you measure the break weight?
@Sandhill19883 ай бұрын
@@plantguy100 yes I have actually, the Girsan Regard MC. They are very comparable.I actually own all three pistols. Out of the 3, this is the most authentic clone. The Melik is Quite possibly a one hundred percent clone of the Beretta 92FS. As far as trigger pull, single action is about 3.75 lbs, Is double action around 9 lbs. Do not let the open slide design discourage you. It's a fantastic weapon improbably one of the most reliable proven combat arms in the world, if not the most reliable. That has a lot to do with the open slide design in the fact that the The round is lined perfectly with the chamber as directly fed into it. In my opinion The US military should have never switched to sig. Thanks for watching in commenting It's appreciated.
@plantguy1003 ай бұрын
@@Sandhill1988 Yes, I'm also skeptical of the Army's choice of the Sig p320 which I don't care for, but I've heard too many x military guys complain about the 92. Reliable certainly, but probably too big and heavy to be a comfortable carry. As with the 1911 and Hi-power, I have mixed feelings about the 92. Classic designs certainly and in some regards very good, but also each is deficient in some ways. A 3.75 lbs single action trigger on the Melik is something most striker fired guns can only dream about, so that sounds good. I'm wondering if Derya will put out more updated versions of the Melik with a pic rail and optics slide cut. I suspect they will. I'm not an optics guy, but many people today won't buy a gun without an optics cut, alone no pic rail. What do you think of the Taurus 92 clones? Who makes the best mags for the 92? Mec Gar I assume? How are the Armscorp mags for the 92? Looks like only they make 17 rounders?
@Razor-gx2dq3 ай бұрын
So today I took the Melik to the range to compare directly to a real Beretta 92FS, my experience with both firearms was great and I shot them well. That being said the trigger on the Melik does not feel as good compared to the Beretta, its not a huge difference but its something to take note of if you really like good triggers, both guns were reliable I shot 115 grain Magtec 9mm and a total of 50 rounds per gun out of Mec-Gar 18 round magazines (I know its not a lot but I'm not made of money). The sights on both guns are largely the same except the Melik has a orange front sight post to the Berettas white front post. Overall my experience with the Melik compared to the Beretta was very positive especially since the Melik is much cheaper than a 92FS at MSRP. Now parts compatibility is complicated some things work others dont. Here is what I know for sure works in the Melik: magazines, guide rod, guide rod spring, barrel and locking block assembly. What I know doesn't work: safety lever. Anything else, your guess is as good as mine.
@Sandhill19883 ай бұрын

I picked up one last week,unfortunately it has a intermittent problem with the hammer only falling to half cock with the double action pull. I emailed rock island and am waiting for a response. I believe its a issue with the trigger bar. :/ other than that, it's a very nice handgun for the price.
@Sandhill19883 ай бұрын
@@jeepinjohns I can fix your problem for you right now. The same thing happened to me on my second pistol. It's the trigger bar spring. It is out of adjustment. If you remove your right grip panel and hold the trigger bar up against the frame the double action will function normally. To remedy this you you will have to adjust the trigger bar spring so it puts a little more inwarrd and slightly more upward pressure. Right now it's allowing the trigger bar to kick out to the right preventing the double action pull from functioning correctly. Try it i'm a wizard lol!
