Could anybody explain the military rank insignia and unit patches? I suppose the ranks are on the shoulder boards. One to three lines. Would that be ranks of a private to corporal ranks? Great video too!

What do you want to now specifically? I am Guard, I could tell you. Yes, the Ranks are on the shoulder boards. I dont know what an private is but three lines would be an Hauptgefreiter I think that's same to your corporal

@@Marco-bf4uu Someone recommended a page on Wikipedia. It was confusing to separate the different ranks of lower enlisted ranks. I was in the American Army for 7 years, Infantry branch as a mortar crewman. It seems hard to directly compare and contrast the ranks. The two ranks of Private or Schütze in the German Bundeswehr appear to be similar to Private E-1 and Private E-2 in the American rank system. Higher ranks seem to get complicated. I suppose the rank structure is separated by Career minded soldiers and conscipt soldiers or volenteers contracted to serve for two years or less. Only able to become Gefreiter. The Gefreiter rank having more specific descriptions such as Obergefreiter or Hauptgefreiter. How does an Hauptgefreiter compare to a Feldwebel? Are all these ranks considered Non-commissioned officers? The commissioned officer ranks seem to be similar to the American system. Thanks for your assistance. If you are still a soldier. Here is something you can make with the sugar and coffee creamer packets in your MRE (Einmannpackung). Called "Ranger Cookies" in the American Army. Use some aluminum foil food wrap to make a cooking package. Mix the sugar and coffee creamer and put into the aluminum cooking package. Seal the aluminum package before cooking. Heat over a fire for 1 or 2 minutes. The sugar and coffee creamer will melt as it cooks. Will harden as it cools. May have to experiment to not burn the sugar. You want the cookie to be a medium brown color. Similar to toffee candy. Ranger Cookies are more of a candy than a bakery item. Makes a nice little biscotti to enjoy with your coffee.

@@Marco-bf4uu A Private in the American Army and US Marine Corps are entry level ranks, NATO designation OP-1 and OP-2. I think Privates are the same as Schützen in the Bundeswehr. Privates are called Airmen in US Air Force, and, Seaman in the US Navy. These are the lowest ranking positions.

@@whomagoose6897 Well, Schütze is an rare rank. Panzergrenadiere are called Grenadier, Jäger have Jäger as the first rank, Guards depending on the company are Schützen or Grenadiers etc.

Sehr wahrscheinlich. Bei einer Friedensarmee wie die Bundeswehr, in der es Frauen und Schwulen gibt, muß alles "süß" sein.

Was ist denn das für ein geisteskranker "Kommentar"? Nur weil die Musikkorps vor 1945 mal gerade um die 30 Musiker stark waren und nicht alle Instrumentensätze hatten, ist die Aufführung der Originalnoten doch nicht softiger, sondern schlicht mit hier 60 Musikern differenzierter und fülliger. Während sich Marschmusik früherer Zeiten einfach oft grottig ubd unprofessionell anhörte!

Wenn Sie hören wollen, wie der Badenweiler Marsch richtig gespielt wird, sollten Sie sich eine Militärparade in Chile anschauen, ein Land wo die deutsche Militärtradition weiterlebt.

Thomas Waibel, nein, erstens waren die Märsche damals nicht "zackiger", sondern einfach mit weniger Instrumenten und weniger Instrumentensätzen als heute. Sie waren bei denselben, auch heute noch verwendeten Noten schlicht qualitativ schlechter gespielt als heute. Nur weil Sie einen nervend-vordergründigen Trommelschlag toll finden mögen, ist es nicht zackiger, sondern soll nur die musikalische Armut übertünchen. Schön, wenn die chilenische Militärmusik auch heute versucht, Überkommen-Ewiggestriges noch als kulturelle Errungenschaft zu bezeichnen. Mit Verlaub, Sie haben weder musikalische, noch militärmusikalische Ahnung, dafür allerdings eine Meinung, die Fakten ignoriert.

Ich froh, das die Märsche überhaupt gespielt werden. Wenn mein Vater Sonntag die Märsche auf Schallplatte abspielte waren wir alle mucksmäuschenstill aber manchmal tanzten wir auch dazu. Lass uns unsere Kultur.
