In this #AZUDProject we have installed a desalination plant for the irrigation of 20ha of berries.
A high conductivity in the irrigation water, prior to the injection of fertilisers, can cause important production losses. A desalination plant for irrigation can avoid production losses and obtain a positive return on investment in less than 2 years (increase in kg/hectare).
The main difficulty in the design of this plant prepared for the production of 15 m3/h was to maintain a constant conductivity in the produced water, regardless of the input water source, so it was decided to install an automatic mixing valve.
With this installation it is foreseen:
- Return on investment in less than 2 years.
- 37% more production in 10 years
- High irrigation water quality irrespective of the source.
