Thanks for the review! I’ve been looking at this holster for my Ruger SR1911. It’s really the only holster I’ve seen that has that good weight distribution. Galco’s leather straps are just to thin and actually had to have them replaced for my Beretta 92FS due to tearing of the leather strap away from the back backplate. I’ve now switched to Gould & Goodrich for all my Glock and Beretta pistols. Of course I only wear these during colder seasons.

First time seeing someone demonstrating a horizontal shoulder holster. Even a handstand flip. Seems to me a horizontal carry shoulder would be uncomfortable because the gun and ammo would press against the arteries in the upper arms. Restricting blood flow. All my shoulder holsters are the vertical types. Two were used by the US Army. One is the M-7 leather shoulder holster for a M1911a1. The other is a museum quality all leather Victory model holster used during WW-2 for revolvers. Have a S&W-10 made in 1945 for it. Either the S&W-10 or the Colt Commando. Both are .38-special, 6 shot cylinders. Have a modern Beretta nylon holster worn in the 1990's though 2012. Made for 4" barreled S&W #586/#686 or Colt Pythons. One is a Galco leather vertical holster able to carry S&W "K" and "L" frames. Everything is for vertical carry. I will say shoulder holsters can be a pain neck to get adjusted.

Great review, I've always used the Galco's for my plastic wonder guns and vertical Bianchi and MASC for 1911's. But have been wanting to try a horizontal holster for 3 and 4 inch alloy frame 1911's. The wide shoulder straps seemed like they could handle the weight. Wow it works great, even with steel frame 1911's, I love it. Although I haven't learned how to do a "kick flip" yet, so guess I haven't really tested it fully. haha

What model is this? I have the same sig 1911. I need to know what model fits. There is no model listed for Sig 1911.

good video. I agree shoulder holsters allow more freedom of movement, in and out of vehicle is easy, and all day comfort is better for me as well. Also I'm glad to see someone carrying a 1911. I understand the weight, size, and limited rounds, and i wouldn't want the 1911 to be my only choice, but still its great to carry sometimes. I love the 1911 in .45 and 10 mm!

Nice review, it was refreshing to see someone review a shoulder holster who actually has it set up properly. I'm tired of seeing all these "professionals" have them set up where the gun is way to low and flopping around.

I know this is an older video, but i can't seem to find any answers to two questions i have. The first question is i have a left-handed model and the snap to secure the firearm operates by snaping away from the body opposite of how the one in the video closes into the body. Is that normal? I also notice it unsnaps once or twice when i first holster the weapon. The second question is, since it's new, it's a really tight draw. Would holstering and un holstering be the solution? I currently have to hold the holster with my off hand, making it completely parallel to the floor and drawing while holding the holster

Would you recommend this holster over others you have used? I see you do a lot of shoulder holster reviews. This seems to be one of the only brands who is offering shoulder rigs for people with optics which is why I am looking at it.
@FirearmsofAmerica4 жыл бұрын
I do like this one a lot, yes. If you prefer classic style shoulder rigs and you are OK with button adjustment system, the color and wider style straps, you will like this one. Another company that has a large variety of holsters specifically for firearms with attachments is AlienGear. I have not uploaded that review yet. They have a ShapeShift and Cloak versions. The Cloak one is the one with a lot of different options.

Ooof, tough question! I love them both and I wear them interchangeably. I think each one has its special features that can appeal more to certain people as a matter of preference. I am waiting for a few more shoulder holster rigs to arrive and then I will make a big comparison video just to show these different features right next to each other.

Good demonstration. One thing only, when you draw and present, you give the illusion that the gun is cocked by not racking the slide when in fact the holster thumb strap looks like is designed for hammer down. There is no mention of the strap system. Can you clarify that on your holster reviews?

I don’t think either one of you are very knowledgeable regarding should holsters. Properly adjusted they will not have a print issue ( unless you can’t leave home without your Ruger Super Redhawk.) and are not designed with Pierre Cardin as a prerequisite. You can easily conceal a Smith 9mm Shield size firearm under A LIGHT VEST with no problem. You don’t need a parka ! I wore one as a LEO for years. Other than that, I don’t know much about them.

Another great video. I have a Galco and ordered a Desantis for my Glocks but I returned it for another Galco as I think Galco better quality. I have always had horizontal shoulder holsters but I'm going Vertical as I dont like a gun loaded with a round chambered pointing backwards at my kids in the back seat or other people, plus when Horizontal you are flagging alot of people when drawing. People under estimate the true pros and qualities of a quality shoulder holster and not sure why....
@FirearmsofAmerica4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind comment! You are making some really good points, regarding the vertical vs. horizontal holsters. I will definitely mention them in my next holster review. I have one shoulder holster rig coming from Craft holsters pretty soon. Also, have been looking at Falco and Alien Gear shoulder rigs. Will definitely be getting the Galco sometime soon as they are very popular.
@I_am_not_a_rob0t4 жыл бұрын
While I appreciate your firearm safety, you really don’t need to worry about flagging when a gun is holstered. Even more so if you are carrying a 1911 like in this video. The 1911 has 2 safeties, and even if they both simultaneously malfunctioned, the gun still wouldn’t go off because of holster strap being in the way between the hammer and the firing pin.
