I can understand why they have to lip sync during this performance. *IF* the float makes constant stops along the parade route, and they were singing for real, you could hear their voices all of a sudden jolt and lose pitch if they didn't anticipate the stops. If they were on stage, then, we would hear their *ACTUAL* voices.

They record the song first in a studio, play it over while recording the scene, then replace the sound tracks with the pre-recorded one during final production. They technically lip-sync during the movie to since their voices during the scene are edited out.
