Truly appreciate the time that it must take you to make these videos by you filming it, explaining it showing other angles etc is very helpful. It's not something a lot of other channels do and it's very beneficial in regards to how you portray everything. Thank you

Thankful for my cinematographers that put in the time with me on the hill. You’re right…it’s a ton of time and effort to make these so we certainly appreciate all the kind words 🙌🙏👍

Again - best instructional sled videos on yt since skool’d 1&2 ….short and to the point … the alternative camera location gives a much better idea of the steepness

Great video,Dan! Pack a serpentine belt to throw over your skis on an icy hill. The belt can help you with ski pulls when getting unstuck too.

Such an underrated, yet SUPER important lesson. Last spring I had an easy climb going up, but quickly realized how icy it was on the way down and I picked up momentum in a HURRY. All I could think to do was bury my A arm in the snow and that was my only way of slowing the sled down. Side-hill out of there and *almost* looked like I knew what I was doing haha!

I absolutely love all your hard work with the clinics. That said; the first down was out of control. If that had trees/ wells/cliff. It would have been byebye. Controlled Khaos. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Hey bud remember that I knew it didn’t have anything below from sizing that elevator up from the bottom. I have the power to edit things out of my videos and this one was actually on purpose and felt super good! Sometimes coming downhill doesn’t always go as planned but I certainly felt right about it. A downhill track vrs an elevator are both variations of coming downhill but can both be in control if you’ve positioned yourself as good as you can. Thanks for watching 🤘

I thought it was a pretty good example, he even gave it throttle to get the track speed up at the bottom

Nope disagree - well done Dan as always… best to have an idea of the terrain but sometimes you end up heading down the unknown so being in control is vital … excellent instruction as expected - hope toe ride there some day

Great information.. thanks! What is the chest rig you have with your radio and avi bag? I've tried to find it but can't locate it anywhere?
@NextLevelRidingClinics

Thanks for watching! The chest piece I’m using is part of the Klim Aspect Avalanche packs. The Oxbow radios use a GoPro style clip that we mount to the packs. It’s all available through our website: www.nxtlvlshop.com 👍👍

I’ve gotten on edge going downhill, but sled stayed straight down since I was pointed fall line when initiating counter steer & tipping. Do I throttle to get sled to carve a little across fall line? It seemed like countersteer was taking front end left, but track wanted to go right.
@NextLevelRidingClinics
@NextLevelRidingClinics Жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for reaching out. Remember that once you’ve counter steered and successfully put your sled on edge….we need to move our body to get our sled to change direction. Not unlike a downhill turn we step down with our foot (opposite foot riding position) and pull the front end in the direction you want to go. Hopefully this makes sense and you continue to practice because it sounds like your there…you just need one more step to get the sled moving in a direction other than straight down the hill. Ride safe!!

Do you fully countersteer away from the hill on downhill track with break and gas..
@NextLevelRidingClinics
@NextLevelRidingClinics Жыл бұрын
You counter steer to initiate your sled on edge. Once that’s accomplished your skis will naturally steer in front of the snowmobile. It’s ok for that to happen as long as you are ready to re-initiate your counter steer if your sled is trying to lay flat. Remember that keeping your sled in it’s edge will be key when coming down something steep! Thanks for watching 👍

The key take-away i got from getting back into riding a few yrs ago with my 08 nytro then moving to my 22 pro was knowing what each of my machines could do and how to manipulate them to do what I want. But yes going down hill in a controlled manner i lay mine on its side and basically work my way down when its stupid steep and I realize I prolly shouldntve gone in there.
