Next week will be a grammar video and then after that probably a writing one. However, I am too busy these days to resume my normal schedule.

What would help a non native speaker get a band 9 in speaking ? Whenever I'm exposed to language, I feel like we've learnt a drop in the sea 🌊 I love your accent Mr David

Hmm. Tough question. I feel like there are many things that an examiner could use to drop someone's score to a band 8.5. I think that even if a native speaker sat the test, a hesitation or repetition could be used to drop their score. That's one of the problems with IELTS. Instead, just think about using English every day in order to become as gifted as possible in its use - read widely, listen to a range of material, and use it often.

Firstly I would like to thank you for the video. I have a small question for you, generally in IELTS band descriptors for speaking it is clearly mentioned that to get a band 8 or more we need to use idiomatic language. Is it really necessary to include at least one idiom in our speaking part 2 answer? Please clarify. Thank you in anticipation Prasad

Don't think of it that way and also keep in mind that idioms and idiomatic language are not exactly the same. Just focus on answering each question specifically and you will fulfil the criteria for a good score. Anyone who thinks about including advanced vocab or idioms invariably struggles because that's just not how language works. Just answer the question directly, give some detail, and be confident. If you do it right, then you will include language that is appropriate to the question and will satisfy the examiner.

It can definitely be useful to study for IELTS in terms of the most common topics. That can help you to group your new vocabulary and also to develop ideas that you could use in essays or spoken answers.
