I think playing to Finality against Monored is almost always a misplay as Golgari, the amount of mana required means that if you haven't died by 6 you've likely already won. I think a much better line of play is to simply use Finality to pull back your blockers that can actually trade into Pyromancers, Firebrands, and even Lavarunners since the biggest problem with Golgari not running the Explore package is being burned out too quickly to get down a good defense. Great vid by the way, love seeing some Golgari that isn't cookie cutter meta and I've always had a soft spot for Desecrated Tomb!

Undercity necrolisk is an instant speed activated ability that puts a +1/+1 counter on the necrolisk and it gains menace when you pay one colorless to sacrifice a creature. It's one of the sac outlets in my red black steal your stuff deck

It's an alternative win con in case the troll plan never happens. I need some value for putting creatures into the graveyard even if I never draw a troll.

Hahah i really liked this deck, the troll is just a fun card to play. I still believe there are some improvements that can be made to this deck, but still, a troll build is just fun to watch. Good video, man!

Also do you think there is room for Deathgorge Scavanger in this deck? I think it works well with Desecrated Tomb.

Oh I hadn't thought of that. I think it could go in here, but it kinda takes up some of the fuel for troll. I guess it can hit opponents graveyard too though, so maybe.

You should try running a more aggressive version of this with Rhizome, Kraul Harpooners and Ghaltas. Creeping Chill can also be a fun inclusion against burn.

That would work pretty well. I'm not sure about the creeping chill though. It's just such a dead card if I ever actually draw it.

The misplays are unbearable to watch. 7:00 You should have attacked, because considering the trolls second ability he would have either let the attack go through or would have also blocked with the Walker plus the Reaper and Ravenous because you could pump it at instant speed. You also logically should figure they always have removal so every point of damage you can get matters. Not to mention the Troll gives you a limited time before it sacs itself. ALWAYS attack in that situation against a Golgari deck, especially one that is having mana issues. You should have played the eldest reborn that turn where you thought about it for the red deck, it wouldn't have matter if they drew a creature. However it would have helped you make them discard a card, which they would and were holding for flame of keld. Making them discard burn or forcing them to use burn before Keld maxed out could have saved you.

This decks is so vulnerable to creature removal it hurts to watch. I don't think it's even viable in bronze.

@@dokidokiduckie I've been playing paper Magic since 1994, I know what the point of this game is. The reality of the online game though, is that unless you have a competitive deck, you're just going to have a losing streak and get nowhere. Trying new things is fun, losing every game is not.

@@EchoZeero I strongly disagree, I play plenty of terrible jank decks that lose constantly, but the fun comes from the exercise, not the conclusion. I think that's an important mind set to have while playing card games, you'll have more fun with it no matter the conclusion.
