New subscriber and new Adenium momma from San Antonio, TX. I got my 1st DR this past April (Chang Expedition) and have thoroughly enjoyed watching her grow and give out many beautiful blooms. I think she is done with buds for now. I can’t wait to see what’s going on under her caudex! Planning on pruning her early next spring, but wondered if I should wait since she is so young. Thank you!

Hi Nell, I'm a subscriber from Lake Charles, LA. We have similar temperature precaurions, by that I mean the number of light freezes per year we endure compared to Tuscon. Here in Lake Charles, we are about 60 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico, so solidly subtropical. I have 4 Adenium obesums that I bought from an internet vendor about 6 months ago that I've had to bring inside this winter about 5 times so far, but only for the night, and then back outside into the sun the next day around noon when it gets back up into the 50's, so you get the idea. I recently purchased 2 A. Arabicums you have shown here. They should be in by the first of April, so the timing should be perfect. Thanks again for your informative channel. 🌱🪴

Thank you for showing me how to prune. After you do your cuttings do you put anything on the tips so they don't shrink up? Do you use glue or cinnamon or just let it air dry?
@kevinburke64462 жыл бұрын
Good tips, new subscriber here. I am a fellow gardener in Tucson (Wetmore and Stone). My Adenium is getting too large to take inside in the winter, but I do bundle it up well on our few really chilly nights. It is definitely a sun baby!

@lisademayo85892 жыл бұрын

Hi Nell, excellent video. I just purchased a few desert roses. They have flowered, but not pruned. The leaves look pretty crappy. I have done a couple emergency re-pots from 2 1/2 inch pots. The caudex are 1 1/2 inches. Kind of tight. When I put them in bigger pots I didn't disturb the roots at all. I'm in Memphis, and it's still a little chilly to do any pruning? I have a couple that are still pushing out leaves. Very active. I'm growing them in the house under a grow bulb. I guess they are comfortable with their surroundings. What should I do about the yellow leaves? There are 2 from Texas with the older leaves on them. The rest are from California and still putting out new chutes. HELP !!!! I'm a bonsai tree enthusiast. I know nothing about adeniums. There are a few videos which do not cover all growing situations of these things. The yellow leafed ones need to be trimmed. People be careful where you buy them from. Nell, whatcha think Lil cutie?

Any recommendations for getting rid of scale? I can't seem to shake them and the plant responds very poorly to even just soapy water... Usually I just take it over to the sink and wash them off and clean the leaves, but if course they come back.
@HardcoreGamerTarin4 жыл бұрын
Alcohol diluted in water... Or Q-tips diped in alcohol directly on the scale.
