Unfortunately I think it's too 'clever" for most folk. People were shocked at Voyager at ESC and Promise is about as catchy as it gets????

I wud love to know what the engineer went through here with regard to the vocals? There’s no power there? Feedback issues? Must be insanely difficult doing live sound for a band like this who occupy MOST of the frequency spectrum 😵‍💫? I ADORE JIMS VOICE AND I ADORE C HORSE BTW and I understand that even slightly pulling it off live is an incredible achievement in itself ❤

The great thing about how Jim sings is most of his vocal lines also sound good with just falsetto due to his style. The main thing I hear is that he's using falsetto during parts where he doesn't on the recordings. Power is lost on some lines because of that (last line in Valkyrie). Makes sense if he's sick as he could hit the notes easier and not have it sound too out of place because of how often he jumps in and out of falsetto normally. Engineer definitely could have given him a bit of a boost though.
