Join the decisive aerial battle of the 20th Century - The Battle of Britain. When you are in a Hurricane with 12 30cal Brownings it takes forever to down a plane…. But a single 30cal in a turret downs many with a burst or two….lol…😂

Dumping bullets into the rear of a plane isn't as effective as dumping bullets directly into the engine block of a water cooled engine

Welcome back to IL-2 taff, this was another great special episode and set again in North Africa. Great success this operation with the BR20, that aircraft is one of my fav prey aircraft in desert wings, it's very fun to fly and I have had some smiles with this plane but I prefer hunting them down. Was a moment to see the Hawker Hurricane Mk1 tropicals come out to play, and thankfully it was just the 303 machine guns to deal with, but going up against the P40s.. that's when your really going up against it.. good thing that the P40s and the Hurricanes took you on separately and not together combined your flight. Thanks so much for putting this on, was a great treat indeed, keep your IL-2 episodes coming they are really amazing. Keep it up and happy gaming mate 👍

Honestly, the ventral position is probably pretty nice to be in seeing as if the plane was going down, and you miraculously survive the strafing, then you can pull yourself out from that position and through the opening

Interesting fact: Imperial Japanese Army used the BR20 as the Fiat Army Type 1 Heavy Bomber over China 1938-1939 and assigned the Allied Reporting Name "Ruth". According to crews they performed well and were more than a match for China's I15 and I16 fighters l flown by Soviet crews. Totally outclassed by the WW2 fighters it went against in other theatres.

Not entirely. It would require a spot that is flat with compact sand. A lot of desert is either solid rock, which is a real pain to dig into, or soft. I'd hate to be one of the blokes on the ground digging in that heat and climate though.

Thanks for the tour of the Br20 crew stations, it has been in my virtual hangar for years but Ive never made the time to fly it. It has been beautifully modelled. The Dieppe DLC is in theory due out before the end of this year, so hopefully we will see it by Xmas.

Historically, in WW2, the Italians mostly used the Fiat BR.20 as a night bomber. It was too vulnerable by day.

Well, that gunner position on the belly doesn't exactly inspire confidence, but it would be nice and cool, out of the Sun, like being on the veranda. If you had a thermos filled with cool gin and tonic, it would be perfect! And if worse comes to worse, taking to your parachute is just a single step over the side.

So, you don't have a way to navigate to the targets, prior to being on top of them? Seems a waste to fly there just to blow up sand, while the ground targets are just over there, "safe!"

@@apropercuppa8612 Well, maybe... But I'm pretty sure each aircraft had a navigation chart, if not a navigator. Maybe it was just the graphics, that didn't seem to show much on the ground when the aircraft were getting close to the targets.

Normally you'd think there'd be some kind of flattened ground where the runway(s) would be marked out, but there's nothing there, lol. I honestly thought Taff was just going for it and hoping for the best. Would love an AAR on this like how B-17 does one.

How do you still play the game? One day, the game just stopped responding to my T16000m. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, the game, verifying game files, enabling and disabling generic controller setting on steam. The control wizard reacts to the stick, but the game just doesn't

The Br20 is by far my most favorite Italian bomber. The sm79 and z1007 are so ugly in my opinion

When you're in a medium bomber and you lose an engine, you're better off in a 3-engine bomber with 66% power remaining, than you are in a 2-engine bomber with only 50% power left.

Can you tell me please, offline missions is still one man game? I mean, no interaction between aircraft: you cannot let the order to your wingman or section, and you cannot get some useful information from your section leader or ground control? Interaction was terrible (it just doesn’t exist) since first days of this sim is n 2011… I hope some day developers will fixed this 😢
