Don't get me wrong I think he can be a decent qb, but he doesn't have game-changer upside like Kizer. We very well might end up with Mitch Trubisky, especially if Kizer grades out well during combine and 49ers take him I personally have no idea how this draft will go there can be a lot of smokescreens being thrown around. You might disagree entirely, but I think if Kizer put's it together he can be very Andrew Luck like and he is meant to run an offense that throws the ball down the field a lot. However, I will admit I am liking Trubisky a little bit more after watching him particularly I am liking how smooth his release is. That being said I also have a lot of doubts with him as well because he would have only started in college for 1 year, he definitely has a great set of WRs to help make him look a little bit better than he might be he can throw them screen passes and they can pick up like 10-20yrds maybe even more at times. I also then he does tend to fold under pressure, which is rarely because his O-line gives him decent time. What I can agree with either Kizer or Trubisky is I personally would rather have them as the long term solution oppose to Barkley, which I am pretty baffled by the fascination with him. Yeah he has put up good stats, but has in return turned the ball over and I don't see him as a guy that can go pound for pound with elite QBs like sadly AROD who made a play against us that only an elite QB could make to win the game.

There is not a great QB class this year, and a 6'4.5 235 QB that has a cannon arm, runs and has ice veins don't come often. If he has a good-very good (not necessarily a great) season, he will a top 5 pick in next years draft. The only other QBs that have potential are Deshone Watson and Brad Kaaya, both much more experienced than Kizer but the debate is there that Kizer could be better than both.

After last nights performance, yes I hope so too. I'm hoping the Bears tank for this guy. Looks like a colin kapernick but better thrower with accuracy and a better athlete over all. 🙏 I've seen enough of jay cutler. When Bryan hoyer steps in and looks like he knows what he is doing, that's a very bad sign for jay. Just cut him now please or trade him for a 5th or 6th rounder. Regardless of who is under center (I believe Kizer starts, but Zaire sees time as well in certain situations/packages) the talent and depth of the offensive line/ skill players is as good as its been since Lou Holtz was roaming the sidelines... As an Irish fan, my number 1 concern is tightening up the defense which is losing Sheldon Day and Jaylon Smith.... The defensive line desperately needs a pass rusher to emerge out of Trumbetti, Daelin Hayes, Kareem or Okwara.. Getting back to Kizer, I was very impressed by his poise in crucial situations, as well as his ability to make all of the throws/accuracy at all 3 levels... He throws a beautiful deep ball and with Fuller gone, I look for him to spread the ball around more to guys like Hunter Jr. St.Brown, and Alize Jones (who is an emerging star that can flex out wide).... Its going to be a fun ride, and I think the most difficult games are the first/last of the season in Austin vs Texas and at the Coliseum vs USC...

As of my last post, Alize Jones is suspended for the season due to academics, which sucks because I think he was due for a break out season.. However, I think now is the time that Hunter Jr shines, and EQ St. Brown will be a solid # 2... Kevin Stepherson or McKinley could have a good year as well, I like the talent/depth even if it is unproven.. Adams/Folston, with a little Dex Williams sprinkled in is better depth at Running back than maybe 4-5 teams in all of college football

CJ Prosise was a 3-star safety when he got to ND. The staff developed him into what you saw last year. Last year's starter Tarean Folston is back. Big-time Florida recruit Dexter Williams is there and go watch freshman Josh Adams from last year...he's back. As far as Will Fuller...before he showed up people were saying how you going to replace 1000yd wr TJ Jones before him how you going to replace Golden Tate..before him how you going to replace Michael Floyd...Brian Kelly has done a fine job developing and reloading. Theyll be fine...

I will never understand some college football fans. People are legitimately talking about a QB battle or that Zaire will beat out Kizer, or even Wimbush like some nutjob said below. Those QBs are very, very talented and as an LSU fan, I believe we tried to recruit all 3. Also as an LSU fan, I can't for the life of me figure how people want anybody but Kizer to start unless the other 2 guys are your friends or kinfolk. Kizer in 11.5 games had 3400 total yards and 31 total TDs. Completed 63% of his passes and averaged an impressive 8.6 yards per attempt. Even in losses he was freaking better than anything we've had at LSU. Vs #2 Clemson 56% 321 yards (9.4 ypa) 2 TDs 1 int 14 car 55 yards 1 TD Vs #3 Stanford 52% 234 yards (9.4 ypa) 1 TD 16 car 128 yards 1 TD Vs #4 Ohio St 59.5% 284 yards 2 TDs 1 int 15 car 21 yards 1 TD All 3 of these teams FINISHED as top 5 teams, Clemson and Ohio St FINISHED as top 20 passing defenses, Clemson and Ohio St FINISHED as top 25 scoring defenses (Ohio St at #2), Clemson and Ohio State FINISHED in the top 10 for total defense. The facts are, you have a guy who has an entire year of experience and I mean experience with top teams and top defenses, and a guy who has a year's worth of in game chemistry with your pass catchers. He can also play the next two years, and Zaire can be a bridge to redshirt Wimbush (if Zaire stays). It's not even like Zaire was playing unstoppable when he was hurt. OK he put a hurting on Texas, but so did Iowa friggin St. He struggled vs Virginia, that doesn't mean much, but just because his physical tools are a tad better, that's not even close to a reason to even care for or want a competition. Yes Winbush is pretty much a slightly shorter Zaire, but their physical gifts can't beat out what Kizer has already accomplished. Some of this early offseason crap reminds me of the Ohio St QB derby last offseason. I had said for the longest it should have been Barrett. People were so enamored with the physical gifts of both Cardele and Miller that they were blind to the fact of who was and is the best option. Geez I wish Brandon Harris was as good as Kizer. We'd go undefeated.

Wimbush is a much better physically gifted Zaire and has the best arm of the 3. But... he's the QB of the future. It definately will be a battle between Zaire and Kizer. I expect Kizer to win and Zaire to still get sprinkled in through games in certain packages a la Leak and Tebow.

Anthony Riso Why does Zaire need to be "sprinkled in"? Tebow played because Chris Leak wasn't a runner. Urban Meyer has always had a dual threat QB wherever he has gone. Seriously, Zaire provides nothing that Kizer can't do. I'm also pretty sure that this "QB battle" is nothing more Kelly trying to keep Zaire from transferring. Only crazy people would even insinuate having a battle is productive to team goals. Kizer should be getting all first team snaps and play with the ones, and get the majority of the focus.

He graduates after this year and can go wherever her wants anyway. if he transfers before this season, he has to sit out a year. so, transferring isn't an option for zaire. also, Zaire is a much better runner and a MUCH more powerful runner. he's more dynamic in the redzone and short yardage. he's also a better leader.

Kizer is no doubt our quarterback, he's just better than Zaire and that's not a knock on him. If you look at the numbers and just watch him play you can see that (assuming he plays around the same level or better) Kizer probably has a legitimate shot of being a first round pick in the NFL

What are you watching my man? This is only a highlight tape, so it's just a taste, but even still you can see he has poise, accuracy, anticipation, and instincts. 1:29, 2:06 are strictly pro shit. You aren't going to see any college QB put together a whole tape full of pro throws because #1 The average college DB sucks, and #2 Most colleges have simple, but extremely effective offensive schemes(Which ties into point #1).

Up for worst QB in the NFL. Currently leads NFL in INTs; Nov 2017. He's not used to consistent tight coverage. It's on him to learn. He's also trying to do it by himself at times i.e. audible QB sneaks. Rookie call. He's got 6 games to show what he's learned and worked out with teammates.
