It is pretty impressive, and honestly so much better than some of the other stations in India I've seen in other videos...In one video, a woman literally started "relieving" herself right on a walkway in front of everyone and just walked away like it was the most normal thing in the world. The crazy thing is, the guy (Dale Phillips) in the video said there are public bathrooms at the station so there's really no reason for that kind of behavior. But I guess some of the bathrooms charge a small fee, something like 10 rupee's but some refuse to pay it or can't and just do that instead. It's kinda crazy just how progressive and modern India is in some regards, but completely the opposite in others. But like any country we all have our own pro's and con's, and things we need to improve on, so this isn't any kind of judgement just an observation I've made from watching videos about India. Such an amazing and fascinating country, so uniquely different from every other country in the world, with such a contrasting blend of the modern and old world.

That's probably true, but when it comes to getting sick playing it safe is the best bet every time. Why risk getting sick and ruining his trip because of one drink? He may have been wrong and misjudged the situation but IMO a simple drink costing a few cents just isn't worth getting sick over. I don't think people realize just how horrible getting food poisoning is, especially in a far away country on a vacation/work trip, where you are supposed to be relaxing and enjoying yourself or working/getting stuff done if on a work trip. He still looked out for the vendor for helping him out and bought something from him. He didn't make a scene and just politely walked away so as to not cause any trouble for the vendor, so I think he didn't do anything wrong in that situation. So it was still a win-win situation in the end.

I too, noticed that it didn't exactly look like mold or even dirt like he said, but I think the bigger risk factor would be the ice, which most likely made with local tap water and could really mess up a travelers stomach if they aren't used to it. A lot of travelers remember to avoid the water but forget about ice which can be just as risky.
